According to her son, a 90-year-old woman was forced to strip off her shirt and bra for Oregon Transportation Security Administration agents because her emergency cash set off alarm sensors while she was going through the security apparatus.
Her son Alan Charney told KATU-TV his mother Harriette Charney had to take off her shirt and bra inside the Portland International Airport after a scanner picked up on an abnormality on her chest.
Threat to the republic?
“There was no sanity or sensitivity at all to the work that they were doing,†Charney said.
Mrs. Charney was heading back to the East Coast after a visit with her son in Portland. She carried emergency money in her bra in case her purse was stolen. (Who else has mothers that do this? Mine does!)
Once the scanners noticed the “abnormality,” Mother Charney was diverted into a room for another security check. Her son said she was asked to remove all her clothing from the waist up.
The TSA said in its defense that being asked to remove clothing is highly unusual and they are investigating the incident.
I got patted down at the Peoria airport last weekend for no apparent reason. I was wearing a shirt and light jacket. It took a lot of control not to tell the guy that he had touched me damn near everywhere EXCEPT for where I normally concealed carry.

I flew on Eastern in July 1970 as a kid on a 727 from New York-JFK to Miami and back again (on a DC-8).
I remember flying the Eastern Air Lines shuttle from Boston to New York-La Guardia in the early 1970’s with my father.
That flight was a four-engine Lockheed Electra prop-jet.
The stewardess would come up the aisle after take-off and the passengers would pay for their tickets while the plane was enroute to New York.
Flying was easy and pleasurable back in those days.
And most of these muslims will be young men between 18 to 40 years of age, battle tested or trained in guerilla warfare. We’re shown pictures of women and children with a few men in the picture, but look closely at pictures coming on the web, most of the people escaping their countries are men. Why aren’t they fighting to saved their country? HMMM? Check what is happening in the tent cities set up in Europe to read and see what happening. These men are busy disrupting any law that may be in place.
I haven’t been on an aircraft since I was medi-vact out of Viet Nam on a MAC flight in 1970. Hah; got you by almost 2 years.

My grandmother, my mother who is now deceased, and most of my aunts have always had a pouch with money in it that they would safety pin to the inside of their clothing at the bosom. I hope I never do that, lol, but.......I’ll be dammed and go to hades if I would let some punk azz TSA person make any of them strip because of it.

I agree. Men need to stop being little boys and get back to opening doors, walking on the traffic side and taking anyone out that hurts their women.
They at least found “her stash”. That’s progress. Now if they can only learn to spot terrorists, guns, knives and bombs.

I can not go through any of the metal detectors without being stopped... Too much underwire! I have to leave my bra in the car to go in the courthouse. (Passport etc.) I choose not to fly anymore and the dog travels well by car...great companion.
