Do you remember what country he was from? It would be interesting to know what his idea of ‘freedom’ was.
Some dysfunctional latin country. As many laws as we have, but no one follows them. Cop hassles you, you offer him a beer.
I remember talking to one friend who was building a house back home on his land outside of town. I asked about getting a building permit. He says, why would I need a permit? Its my land...?
Stuff like that. Freedom, not because its constitutionally protected, but simply because its so dysfunctional.
