Carson edges Trump in national poll
The Hill ^ | 10/27/15 | Jesse Byrnes

Ben Carson has edged out fellow GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump in a new national poll, taking the top spot from the real estate mogul for the first time in months.

Carson is supported by 26 percent of GOP primary voters, followed by Trump at 22 percent, according to the CBS News/New York Times poll released early Tuesday. All other candidates follow in the single digits, with Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) at 8 percent and businesswoman Carly Fiorina and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 7 percent each.

The poll represents growing momentum for Carson, who surpassed Trump in several polls in the early voting state of Iowa over the past week ahead of the next GOP debate on Wednesday.

"Ben Carson is now doing well," Trump acknowledged on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" after the poll came out, adding that he believed Carson would see more scrutiny as a front-runner.

“it is unwise to overlook the fact that Dr Ben has the finest intellect and control of the language of any candidate in modern memory”

Carson's intellect is so fine that it couldn't even grasp (or bother to grasp) the difference between Secretary of the Treasury and Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Nor did that formidable intellect bother to learn that Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia have been members of NATO for years. Carson reminds me a bit of Herman Cain, who was warning us 4 years ago that China was just days away from building its first atomic bomb.

Ben Carson, like Cain, is the beneficiary of the GOP's own special brand of affirmative action. If either of these guys were white, they would be forgotten footnote fringe candidates. But because a lot of Republicans want to bend over backwards and prove to the world how non-racist they are, they manage to be front runner in the polls for a while.

I don’t at all., open borders, gun grabbing, social justice etc. Sends me to sleep when he talks, except the time when admitted he tried to stab someone.

Still as long as he can quote a scriptures or two then he will get votes off those who only want to hear that.

Managing teams for A SINGLE OPERATION that numbered in the dozens??? Choreographing the movements and actions of EVERY MEMBER for 20 hours or more??? trump criticizes this man for lack of management experience, saying oh maybe he’s managed “a nurse or two???”

In other words, Carson is a good physician and a nice guy. I fail to see how either qualifies him for America's highest office.

He's basically Jeb Bush, minus the executive experience, plus some Seventh Day Adventist theo-babble.

Bogus poll. Wishful thinking and attempt to manipulate by pollsters.
....................................................
And has the stink of the Republican Establishment all over it. They even stated they’d go to war in October. So now Carson is their man? Ha. He is NOT qualified.

Carson campaign is using robo-callers to drum up money and support in FL in order to attack Trump.

Looks like Club for Growth is making a FL firewall.

Feel free to reuse it. Here is the source:

Other Freepers have correctly observed that Carson has not had rallys, but book signings... and that he routinely steps in it in interviews. That aside, let's look at the last few weeks of Carson headlines:

Top Carson Aide Wants Taxpayers To Fund Farrakhan
Ben Carson on "volatile" past, trying to stab a friend
BEN CARSON SKETCHES PLAN FOR DEALING WITH ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS (Citizenship for guest workers)
Dr. Ben Carson's prescription: Abolish Medicare

About the only thing that MIGHT help him is the Medicare position, but that would be a wash, because he'd lose as many seniors as he gained people like us.
So there is ZERO that drives these polls. An oversample of registered voters who are Republican was interviewed for a total of 512 interviews with Republican registered voters. The results were then weighted in proportion to the adult population. The margin of error for the Republican registered voters is 7 percentage points.

The above is an odd paragraph. I plugged the 575 into my calculator, and it's about 4.18 at 95%.

So, what is the above paragraph saying that got them to 7%? That their weightings got their sample size down to 169 people?

That is so odd.

How do you know all the polls showing Trump leading weren’t bogus?
...........................................................

Bean counters can spill the beans in a dozen different ways, but nothing beats seeing something with your own eyes.

LOOK AT TRUMPS RALLYS.

By looking at the tens of thousand at his rallys, his numbers are justified and verified!

I wouldn’t show up to see or hear Carson.
I think this is an effort to take Trump down.
If they derail Trump, then they take down Carson with his violent childhood, 7th Day religion and other connections.

Brings Bush or Rubio who are GOPe into contention to lose to Hillery.

IMO THESE POLLS ARE OFF, why the change? Because of the Bush talk? Most would agree with Trump.

Trump draws 20,000 or more unlike the rest, so how does he not have the vote?

Very good summation.

The Trump rallies are a better indicator than any poll. Both are unscientific, but the depth of commitment is markedly different.

We need a strong, brilliant steam roller like Trump to go in to Washington, slap down the sorry RINOs, deal with the muzzies (before they take over and kill us all) and clean up the mess Omuslim has made that has almost destroyed America and our way of life. We need someone to make America respected again- great again!!

I’d go for a Trump/Allen West ticket- but CARSON IS NO ALLEN WEST!!

Did C bs re hire Mart Mapes and Dan Rather to massage their latest stuff posing as a poll?

C bs and the NY Slimes are so reliable and trustworthy.

Meanwhile besides the corn porn stuff coming from Iowa and this C bs porn posing as a poll, Trump continues to out poll the rest of the pack.

Gravis/OAN Poll: Trump 34.7, Carson 17.2, Rubio 10.8
OAN/Gravis ^ | 10/27/2015 | OAN/Gravis
Posted on 10/27/2015, 7:49:39 AM by LS

Today’s OAN/Gravis poll has Trump at 34.7, Carson at 17.2, Rubio at 10.8, Fiorina at 8.8, Cruz at 7.3, Bush at 6.9. Pretty small MOE.

Gravis Marketing, a nonpartisan research firm, conducted a random survey of 2,665 registered voters in the U.S. regarding the presidential election. The sample includes 898 Republicans, 1,021 Democrats, and the remainder not Republican or Democratic, but are planning to vote in the regular elections. The poll has a margin of error of ± 1.9% [3.3% for Republican Primary/3.1% for Democratic Primary]. The total may not round to 100% because of rounding. The polls were conducted using automated telephone calls (IVR technology) and weighted separately for each population in the question presented. The poll was conducted for One America News. Network.
