A frightening showing at the box office this weekend featured five disappointmentsincluding two of the biggest flops in history.
Steve Jobs, The Last Witch Hunter, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, Rock the Kasbah and Jem and the Holograms all fell short, with only Witch Hunter cracking $10 million. Kasbah and Jem now rank among the worst openings of all time, and Paranormal missed expectations after weeks of anticipation over its divisive distribution strategy.
Instead, holdovers The Martian and Goosebumps came in first and second place, respectively. The Martian grossed an estimated $15.9 million in the U.S. and Canada, bringing the space dramas total to $166 million.

Actually even the fanboys say the movie is a distortion. Some parts are rooted in truth but there is a lot of ...”poetic license.”
“Im surprised the Steve Jobs movie is a flop. Where are all the Apple fanboys?”
IIRC this is the 4th one in the last few years, two being made for TV. Ashton Kutcher did the other made for Big Screen in 2013 “Jobs” Only brought in 16 million, I think it lost money a lot of money after marketing costs.
My family went to see the movie Woodlawn for $7.00 each on weekend matinee. Excellent movie—sort of like Remember the Titans with a spiritual (Jesus) dimension. My daughter said one of the best she has ever seen :) Highly recommend it
I seldom go to the movies. The last one I went to was Jurassic World, but mainly because Mrs. Frog wanted to see it.
Thank you. Makes me very happy to see a propaganda film go belly up.
Yes, but I didn’t expect to be told from the very beginning that it was. Princess, handsome young rescuer, evil Darth Vader, all the trimmings....................
Did we really need yet another Steve Jobs movie?
We didn’t need the first one........................
The Jobs movie sounds kind of boring if you ask me.
I skipped my last day in High School to stand in line to get tickets for the opening.
When the lights came back up somebody said “Thank God, I was so tired of meaningful movies.”
Wait..! Both?
“...tickets at $12-$15 in LA...”
Yep, it’s just crazy out here. It costs anywhere between $60-$100 for a family of four to go to the movies today. What a joke.
Think of it this way. The Steve Jobs movie and Apple have much in common. Overpriced, under performing and generally a pain in the ass ;)
"He shot my hair! Son of a b.....!.....Nobody shoots my hair!"
People are flocking to The Martian still. Once people see that, they will go to other movies.
"He shot my hair! Son of a b.....!.....Nobody shoots my hair!"
No matter when I go, I run into people who shouldn’t be let put of their cages. We’ve even had a couple of shootings and muggings around these fancy theaters.
Still better to watch a movie at home.
LOL!
Truth is only on 18 screens. Why they didn’t widely release, who knows?
