Jeb Bush paints Ted Cruz as two-faced
CBS News ^ | October 25, 2015

HOUSTON -- Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush went after 2016 rival Ted Cruz over the weekend at a campaign stop in Charleston, South Carolina, by portraying the Texan as hypocritical and two-faced.

"The guy (Cruz) that made this comment was supportive of the guy (John Roberts) he was critical of," Bush told Rep. Tim Gowdy and the audience at Bishop England High School. He was referring to the moment in the second Republican presidential debate in Californiawhen Cruz said, "Yes, it was a mistake" for President George W. Bush to have nominated Chief Justice John Roberts to the Supreme Court. Cruz had weighed in after Bush was asked to account for his brother's nomination of Roberts who some conservatives have derided for upholding Obamacare.

Without ever mentioning Cruz's name -- possibly a sign of tact, dislike, or both -- Bush explained with some sarcasm, "He literally supported John Roberts and then after the fact, with the power of hindsight, this amazing power that only people in Washington have, the rest of us apparently don't have this skill.

"He can opine the way he wants," Bush went on. "Anyway," he paused, "that's what I think about that."

He knows he’s out of it. Time to do the Establishment’s dirty work and go after the true hero of this group.

Cruz it or lose it.

I don’t want to make excuses for Cruz or rationalize something he said or did to protect. I see enough of that going on elsewhere.

BUT, I do think this is probably explained easily enough. Of course the night of the debate, Jeb wasn’t interested in any explanations.

I’d imagine Cruz’s first choice would have been someone else (his former boss if I recall). When that wasn’t going to be a possibility, he probably flipped to Roberts, who he thought had the record and the beliefs and conviction to do the job well.

Which may have turned out to be the case if it hadn’t been for the Obama administration probably blackmailing him.

How embarrassing for Yeb to have to throw his support behind Kid Marco when his big PAC donors stop writing checks.

Even though Donald Trump sucks (I’m kidding), well said.

Although, sadly, I don’t know that Jebby is tarnishing the family name. I always thought that despite whatever other faults he had, George W. was a class act. Now, I’m starting to rethink that.

Jeb! has reached a place few people reach with me ... the very sight/sound of him makes me physically nauseous. He is now in the same category as Peolosi, Reid, the Clintons, Obamas, Holder .... those sorts of ‘Rat B’s.

Jeb! .... sit down, shut up, and GO HOME.

Who talks like that except for special needs types?

mygosh. Is the Jebster trying to hurt Cruz's campaign because Cruz has been an ally of Trump? What an infantile cry baby tippy-toes is.

Another way to look at it is Jeb is defending dynasty, not what's best for the US. Would would be wrong in saying that Roberts might have seemed like a good Supreme Court choice when he was nominated, but that isn't what happened.

Kind of like Iraq, isn't it? Maybe we do have to be more critical of GWBs judgement.

I’m enjoying this. For all that the Bushes think they’re so well-bred, they’re acting like vulgar trash. Keep on, Jeb, I’m paying more attention to you now than I ever have.

Would you after Trump again after what he just did to you?

Trump totally steamrolled the guy. Woke people up and they started looking around. “Oh yeah, maybe we have been wrong about this guy”....

I certainly wouldn’t want to go after Trump again...there wouldn’t be anything left, couldn’t face yourself in the mirror, just imagine having to go out in public...

Ben Carson Pretends He Doesn’t Really Want To End Medicare By Heather

Republish Reprint

As we already discussed here, GOP presidential candidate and former neurosurgeon Ben Carson told Politico that he wants to replace Medicare and Medicaid with cradle-to-grave health savings accounts. When asked by Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace if he really wants to put an end to Medicare, Carson stammered and stuttered his way through the interview and tried to pretend that’s not what he wants to do, even though we all know that would be the end result if you move the funds from one program to the other.

Here’s more from The Hill on Carson’s train wreck of an interview on Fox: Ben Carson says he won’t end Medicare: Republican Ben Carson on Sunday rejected the notion that he will end Medicare if he is elected president. “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace asked Carson if his plan was to end the program, which serves 49 million senior citizens. “That’s completely false, Carson said. “That’s a narrative someone’s putting out there to scare people.”

Carson said the program he’s outlined uses health savings accounts starting from the time a person is born until their death to largely eliminate the needs for people to be dependent on government programs. “I would never get rid of the programs,” he said. “I would provide people with an alternative and I think they will see the alternative we’re going to outline is so much better than anything else.”

Wallace pushed Carson on what appeared to be a policy change, asking him if people will have a choice between health savings accounts and the traditional Medicare “I do not believe in imposing things on people,” Carson said. “I believe in presenting things that are so attractive that people will quickly migrate to them.”

It’s pretty bad when even a host on Fox isn’t buying the B.S. you’re shoveling. Wallace pushed and pushed Carson on where the money would come from for his program, and Carson either doesn’t even understand what his own health care proposal would do, or he’s just lying through his teeth.

For all that the Bushes think they’re so well-bred, they’re acting like vulgar trash.

I believe the Bush Dynasty is lashing out because half of the opposition to Jeburrito is because of the failed presidencies of '41 and '43 (the other half is because of Jeburrito's scamnesty, etc. policies).

This is a rude awakening for an elitist family that mistakenly thought they were beloved by the peasants.
