Carson's violent past: Bricks, bats, hammers
CNN ^ | 11/25/15 | Eric Bradner

Posted on 10/25/2015 8:18:46 AM PDT by jimbo123

Ben Carson says he's soft-spoken now -- but he hasn't always been so calm.

"As a teenager, I would go after people with rocks, and bricks, and baseball bats, and hammers. And, of course, many people know the story when I was 14 and I tried to stab someone," Carson said Sunday on ABC's "This Week."

"You know, fortunately, you know, my life has been changed," he added. "And I'm a very different person now."

Carson's comments came after Donald Trump, his leading opponent for the Republican presidential nomination, said at a rally in Miami on Friday that Carson has even less energy than Jeb Bush, who the developer has repeatedly called a "low-energy" candidate.

"Ben Carson is super low energy, right? He's super low," Trump said. "Super low energy. We need tremendous energy. We need tremendous energy."

“Carson has long discussed that he was WAY on the wrong path as a VERY angry child and that his mother straightened him out. To me, this is a plus, not a minus”

This is a thread with responses I can hardly believe.

These posters ave agendas and rational though or honesty is not of interest to them.

You are definitely casting pearls before swine.

Not the kind of energy we were looking for.

These guys on this thread aren’t attacking Carson from a RINO position or point of view.

These guys come from the old time Democrat point of view.

That your dislike of Carson is racially motivated.

I will agree with that, but not because I am a racist. Dr. Carson, however, is a self righteous fraud who identifies with the race pimps of the left.

No thanks.

Based on his unwillingness to enforce our immigration laws, his chummy relationship with Sharpton and Farrakhan, his statement that he would not have shot Michael Brown, his Pacifist religion that also teaches that Jesus is the Archangel Michael. Typically, those who are deceived are deceivers themselves.

I doubt many of his supporters know he wants to abolish Social Security and Medicare.

There are no leadership qualities that I can see in this man. He will get no respect on the world stage, our enemies will be even more emboldened. Coupled with his strong pacifist beliefs, our country would be in more peril than ever.

Can we really consider voting for a former "street thug?" /s

I like Trump and Cruz. Both of them on the ticket would be the best outcome for the country. I believe that ticket can beat Hillary.

Guess that explains why he said he would not have shot Michael Brown.

Me too. Cruz.

Carson or Trump are also OK.

Your hatred of Carson, though, is irrational.

Carson and Trump are both doing a lot for the conservative cause and for changing this corrupt and ossified political class system.

No one can be taken seriously if he is condemning Carson, especially in the demagogic intellectually dishonest manner I’ve seen in posts today.

I don’t hate Carson, but I distrust him and think he would make a horrible President.

I agree.

But it is irrational to have such animosity against Carson.

Apparently you’ve never read his book. The hammer and stabbing incident was in his youth and covered in the book.

In his past as a doctor, he told a robber to turn the gun on the guy behind the counter proving adulthood hasn’t changed his character. No, thanks. America can do a lot better.

I guess animosity is in the eye of the beholder. I try to state the positions I object to, the behavior or beliefs that I see would have a negative impact on a leadership role. If that comes off as animosity, so be it.

I have from the beginning believed that this man has the potential to be even more damaging than Obama. Deception is very strong with this man.

Same here. Every time he opens his mouth, he proves I made the right decision to scratch him off the list early on.

Most of America didn’t read Carson’s book. It’s good that the word is getting out on his violent past beyond his groupies.
