Looks bad.
As far as I’ve been able to find all he gave the HFC apparently was a seat on the Steering Committee. That’s something but not enough.
But maybe there’s more. I sure hope so.
Seems he getting his demand for a change in the ‘vacate’ vote too.
Need 30 to vote against him and there’s only about half that. I assume he’d withdraw without sufficient Republican support.
I thought this was already a given...
There’s a mutiny in progress on this ship. The last successor was knifed (Cantor) and the current Captain is being marched off the gangplank.
Ryan and the Company are crazy if they think he can take the helm and maintain the same course and heading.
We’re.
Coming.
For.
All.
Of.
You.
Enjoy it while you can.
So, the fix is in.
Of course, he said he wouldn’t run unless he had the endorsement of all of the various prominent caucuses, which he did not receive.
So, he’s starting off with a lie and a broken promise.
I guess that’s just the way he rolls.
Which makes him the perfect guy to represent this generation of American politicians I guess.
Tagline ...
The fight against our GOP-e `friends’ continues. They will continue to concentrate their fire on us—throw them all out.
CONSERVATIVE PARTY 2016!
Whatever happened to Zinke?
The SOTH is third in line for the Presidency and he wants to take the process of vacating the chair off the table.
Think about it.
Unifying?
Oh boy.
For whose side?
Unify my Aunt Fanny! You’ll CAVE just like Boehner did, if not WORSE!
Aarrgghhh!
Wisconsin apologizes for what is about to unfold....
Looks like we’re going to have to Cantor-ize a bunch more of these SOBs.
I THINK WE NEED TO SUPPORT ONE OF THE FIVE MEMBERS WHO ACTUALLY STOOD UP TO BOEHNER ON THE MOTION TO VACATE THE SPEAKER, NOT PEOPLE WHO TELL US THEY ARE CONSERVATIVE AND MAKE NOISE IN THE MEDIA.
CONGRESSMAN THOMAS MASSIE OF KENTUCKY IS ONE OF THE FEW WHO MEAN IT IN WASHINGTON.
HE’S MY NOMINEE FOR SPEAKER BECAUSE HE IS ONE WHO MEANS IT ABOUT BEING CONSERVATIVE AND HAS BRAVELY PUT HIS MONEY WHERE HIS MOUTH IS.
Don’t the little Republican primary voters make awful choices in election after election
It was always a done deal. The rest has been a poor acting job by Ryan and a terrible smokescreen production by the GOPe.
Paul Ryan supports welfare to illegal invaders, and preferred to cut disabled veteran pensions instead of eliminating EITC fraud to the tune of $30 Billion per year for "Dreamers"
His first act is a lie.
Way to go, GOP-E. You’ve elected Eddie Munster.
I’m not really paying attention to this any more since all of Washington’s politics are worthless, but would like to know more about what is going on.
Was there a viable alternative to run against Paul Ryan that would have garnered more than 5 votes? I’m not sure who announced as candidates. Did anyone from the Freedom Caucus step up to lead? If not, why not? Why did the founders of the Freedom Caucus line up behind Ryan? Where is that powerful conservative voice willing to take this on? I don’t see one.
I guess I don’t see a whole lot in the way of alternatives. Boehner being gone is good but I don’t think the elephant can be swallowed in one bite.
