I have a serious question for the Trump supporters, and I hope they will be able to answer it, at least to themselves. It is a question that every supporter of every candidate should be able to answer if they consider themselves a thinking voter instead of a mindless, drooling sports fan. The question is this:
What, hypothetically, would Trump have to do or say to cause you to stop supporting him?
SNIP
............Its supposed to matter what candidates think, do, and say. There should be a point with literally every candidate where something they have done would push us over the edge to the point that we wouldnt support them anymore.

Though, it would be refreshing and honest if some would give a reasoned answer to the question posed.
"I am dropping out of the race"
Instead of Trump we will elect this?
The "establishment" is running scared. That is what I like most about Trump. He makes the ruling class soil their "big boy" pants.
Why don’t the writers at Redstate ask the same question of the supporters of the other GOP candidates?
Which he won’t, he isn’t stupid about where his bread is buttered.
“....ask this question to supporters of any other candidates?”
Perhaps if you read his piece you’d have a clearer picture.
This isn’t a serious question at all; it’s a wacko waste of time.
...dream on.....
I read the article. It is a rehash of all the other talking points Trump haters have put forth here in the past few months cleverly disguised under “The Big Question - What’s he gonna have to do to cause you to not support him?”
Then it slogs down that road by showing all the canned and old talking points for various issues (questions over which one would decommit).
The big lie in this article is the author’s gloss-over and discounting of why some, many, most(?) supporters support him. The author totally pooh-poohs the possibility that we have been driven to him by our own Republican Establishment.
We’re not pi$$ed at GOPe; we’re fan bois, roadies, celebrity hounds and idiots who are more likely to bill and coo over some twerp on American Idol. That’s eventually what all the Trump haters get around to doing - marginalization, derision, trickery and deceit. All because the media and poweratti can’t control the narrative any more.
I think the majority, vast majority of us on this forum were not for Trump in the beginning. Some of us were down right mad at the man. Many of us were for Cruz and Walker, and we thought that Trump was in it as the spoiler, another Ross Perot, who in my mind was one of the most despicable human beings. He knew what he was doing, and by running he gave us Clinton.
In time, I grew to realize that Trump is more like a young Reagan than not. I learn from the man. I see him uniting people unlike at any time. Not just our side, but blue collars, minority, conservatives even some liberals.
What does he have to do? Simple, run as a third party.
You are so very correct. BTTT
Keep on keeping on, you paid GOPe social media monkey.
If we had had you and the Internet back in the ‘70s, you’d have been posting against that B-level actor, too.
Allow me to return the favor: What would it take, what would the candidate have to do or say, to cause you to drop support for Bush? Or Rubio?
The author presumes that the “value” of candidate Trump is the positions he supports.
In my view, the republic is lost. The corrupt culture of Washington needs to be destroyed to restore constitutional order, which may only happen after many years for diligent work.
So, if Trump were to stop attacking the media and political status quo, I would stop supporting him.
(NB: my preferred candidate is Cruz)
I’ve always been for Cruz as my first choice. I didn’t and don’t mind Trump in the race because he gives the media, Democrats and GOP Establishment a case of apoplexy and leaves the pundits, consultants and pollsters stammering for a sane reason why.
I’ve mainly not had a problem with him because Cruz didn’t and doesn’t have a problem with him. Until such time as he does, I’ll willingly amuse myself with Trump and the powers that be.
My MAIN reason for wanting him to stay in longer is to finish off Jeb Bush the Mexican. I want him so low in the polls the money and powers that be desert him completely. I want him gone, finished and trashed beyond all ability to rise up and steal the nomination.
I’m not a Jeb or Rubio supporter.
It’s lost its way. Whether lost in an absolute sense, that it cannot recover and must cease to exist even in name, that is up to the attitude that We The People take.
