IT HAS BECOME increasingly popular to speak of racial and ethnic diversity as a civic strength. From multicultural festivals to pronouncements from political leaders, the message is the same: our differences make us stronger.
But a massive new study, based on detailed interviews of nearly 30,000 people across America, has concluded just the opposite. Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam -- famous for "Bowling Alone," his 2000 book on declining civic engagement -- has found that the greater the diversity in a community, the fewer people vote and the less they volunteer, the less they give to charity and work on community projects. In the most diverse communities, neighbors trust one another about half as much as they do in the most homogenous settings. The study, the largest ever on civic engagement in America, found that virtually all measures of civic health are lower in more diverse settings.
"The extent of the effect is shocking," says Scott Page, a University of Michigan political scientist.
The study comes at a time when the future of the American melting pot is the focus of intense political debate, from immigration to race-based admissions to schools, and it poses challenges to advocates on all sides of the issues. The study is already being cited by some conservatives as proof of the harm large-scale immigration causes to the nation's social fabric. But with demographic trends already pushing the nation inexorably toward greater diversity, the real question may yet lie ahead: how to handle the unsettling social
"We can't ignore the findings," says Ali Noorani, executive director of the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition. "The big question we have to ask ourselves is, what do we do about it; what are the next steps?"

In theory, having immigrants and their children here, speaking the native language AND English and loyalty to this nation, gives you translators for your side in almost any war.
Diversity is designed to replace competent people with the incompetent based on race or sexual perversion.
I tried to answer your question and came up with a long list. So I turned it into an article.
The Discouraging Reasons We See Less Volunteering

That never hurt us in winning wars
This is an example of a principle violently wrenched out of context.
It really began with the unabashedly Christian assertion that one Savior has a salvation that fits all and turns strangers into brethren. Whether you are from Tennessee or Timbuktu.
So far so good, but now subtract out the Christianity. Now you have all the drawbacks of the tower of Babel without any of the purported benefits.
Amen
And of course the action of anti-Christs comes in here as well. Psalm 2: “Why should the nations rage and the peoples plan a vain thing?”

Diversity is usually code word for political correctness. Multiculturalism is the process and excuse for erasing the American-American culture and it’s ethics, morals and values. American civics is practiced in an American culture; not a tribal culture established by multiculturalism.
In an politically correct environment, it is very risky for normal people to get involved in political or civic issues - big or small beyond liberalism’s permission. New comers today, really have no clue about the constitution, the rule of law nor real American history beyond liberalism’s divisive race and sex hate propaganda. This leaves people with the sense of having nothing in common and no custom of American civics.
But we did not need a study on this. It’s been obvious for years that tribalism has permitted elitist and government corruption to flourish in the face of our people’s weakness via disunity among the people who squat here looking for free stuff.
Every so often studies like this come forward for instance on the bell curve, same sex attraction, marriage, family life, etc. and, despite proving the Left completely wrong, they’re buried under a pile of lies.
