‘Putin is deliberately targeting our forces’
Daily Mail ^ | 10/14/15 | Khaleda Rahman

Russia is ‘deliberately targeting’ U.S.-backed forces in Syria in an air campaign that has killed up to 150 CIA-trained rebels, according to an official.

It comes as the two countries are set to hold talks in a bid to avoid clashes in the skies after it emerged that opposing jets have been conducting raids so close together that pilots have been able to see each other.

Since Moscow began carrying out air strikes in Syria, there has been mounting evidence that the target is not solely Islamic State militants.

A U.S. official, who believes up to 150 U.S. trained rebels have been killed by the Russians, told Fox News: ‘Putin is deliberately targeting our forces. Our guys are fighting for their lives.’

Talks between the two countries will be held today after the Pentagon said pilots made visual contact with Russian aircraft on Saturday.

However, Moscow has said the United States has refused to host a delegation led by the Russian prime minister for discussions on the Syrian conflict.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Washington had informed Moscow that it will not meet the Russian delegation – and will only agree to military talks to avoid clashes.

He said the offer was made last month when presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama met during the United Nations General Assembly. However, Russia launched airstrikes in Syria after that.

The senior U.S official told Fox News today’s talks will only discuss how to de-conflict airspace over Syria and there will be no discussion on co-ordination with Russian forces.

that has killed up to 150 CIA-trained rebels

I wonder if any CIA operatives are still with the rebel units?

We don't have any forces there. And we don't have any friends there either. And we don't belong there.

We closed the Syrian Embassy in DC in spring of 2014 and sent their diplomats home.

Russia is there at the request of their ally of 50 years.

Putin Calls U.S. `Weak’ on Syria as Russian Airstrikes Continue

Andrey Biryukov

October 15, 2015 — 3:11 AM CDT

Russian President Vladimir Putin continued a war of words with the U.S. over Syria, calling its policy weak and lacking in objectives as his air force carried out fresh bombing raids in support of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad.

“I don’t really understand how the U.S. can criticize Russia’s actions in Syria if they refuse to have direct dialogue,” Putin told reporters Thursday during a visit to Astana, Kazakhstan. “The basic weakness of the American position is that they don’t have an agenda, though we’re keeping the door open” for high-level discussions with Washington, he said.

Russian warplanes flew 33 sorties and made 32 airstrikes in the past 24 hours against Islamic State positions in Syria’s Idlib, Hama, Aleppo and Deir ez-Zor provinces, Interfax news service reported, citing Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov.

Amid growing friction over the Russian intervention in Syria that began Sept. 30, the U.S. rejected Putin’s offer to send a delegation led by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to Washington to explain the campaign against Islamic State and other militants, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday. Putin accused some states of having “oatmeal in their heads” on Tuesday for failing to understand that Russia’s airstrikes seek to defeat terrorism. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed “regret” on Wednesday over the American rejection of high-level talks.

Nothing personal but Misleading Headline Alert?

“Putin is deliberately targeting our forces”

Sounds alot more serious than

“Russia is ‘deliberately targeting’ U.S.-backed forces in Syria”

INHO. But whatever sells papers is ok I guess.

RE: 12

Apparently that was the quote from the nameless U.S. official:

"A U.S. official, who believes up to 150 U.S. trained rebels have been killed by the Russians, told Fox News: ‘Putin is deliberately targeting our forces. Our guys are fighting for their lives'."

Stop the charade. Why wouldn't Putin target all the enemies of Assad? That includes ISIS and Obummer’s Islamist cover killers. Obummer wants Syria to become another Islamic wasteland like all the others he has created with his pro-Islam agenda. Unfortunately, Putin is not a Muslim and a traitor like the WH squatter.

I thought recent congressional testimony revealed 5-6 trained rebels?

Not only that, I thought they were supposed to be fighting ISIS.

The only logical conclusion I can find is that the rest of the 150 were "rebels" trained by the CIA who have taken their goodies and were fighting with ISIS.

Wow. The only thing that could make it even worse is if CIA agents were with them.

That’s because “our guys” are too busy trying to destroy Assad, to attack ISIS!

“Our guys” are not there to end the ISIS invasion and expansion, they are there to end Assad and ALLOW the ISIS invasion/expansion!

DUH!!

‘“OUR guys”

Wow.’

Yep. I think that is the end of any questions there.

The REAL “axis of evil” in today’s world runs from Washington D.C. to Brussels to Ankara to Riyadh. If a policy is supported by some Soros funded NGO, it is evil. It is transnational, anti-freedom and inhuman in its aspirations. AND it will be supported by the ObamaCons, mindlessly repeating an Archie Bunkerish, Americanized version of ein reich, ein volk, ein fuhrer.

None of this can be all that surprising. The real question is whether Barry is smart enough to see this as poke in the eye it is. Putin is mocking Barry’s weakness in front of The Whole World. In conference rooms, clubs and hallways across the globe, Obama is the butt of many crude jokes.
