The great and terrible Chick-fil-A has come to Babylon. Im pretty sure thats a quote from Ghostbusters, right before the dogs and cats living together bit. Yes, the mighty and controversial, but undisputed King of chicken has come at last to New York City, and despite any past enmity, the city is thrilled and the residents are lined up for blocks to get the precious.
Being from the south, Chick-fil-A has long been a passion of mine. If youre wondering, I order the classic as is. I put a little mayo and mustard on it. I escape to euphoria. And oh, the waffle fries.
Late Friday night, Twitchy rounded up some of the photos from Twitter of this giant leap for Yankee-kind. Heres a sample:

Pretty amazing.
Open one day, closed on Sunday.
They will enjoy great food, great service, and a clean store.
Chick-fil-a is good, and family friendly, don’t get me wrong, but what kind of pointless existence can one lead, to have 11.5 spare hours to stand in line for a fast food chicken sandwich? That is pathetic...
Oh poo, I thought you meant Babylon, LI.
That line is likely due to the give away they do when a store opens. Can’t remember details. Like free food for a year.
There is a Chick Fil- A at shopping mall in Paramus NJ
Eat there when shopping.....
You sure that pic isn’t of gay urban liberal vegans protesting the opening of the hated Chick Fil-A in the heart of the Big Apple?
;^)
I usually wait for the movie to come out on DVD. Life is to short to stand in line.
Pathetic - indeed. I can’t think of more than a few things that would have me wait in a line for more than 1 hour.
Mark Simone has been singing its praises. I like Chik-Fil-A well enough but can’t see the fuss. Of course, young NYers love getting on lines. I never understood that.
Once again, this is about the free food give away. You always see lines like this when a Chik Fil A first opens. It’s part of their philosophy and Marketing PR
It’s like free food for a year. I have never done it but there a people who actually travel around and do it.
In fact, I never eat chicken in a restaurant because it's something I can always make at home. I don't live near a restaurant but when I travel, there's usually one nearby.
A new one just opened up in Deerfield Beach FL, and I stopped in for a delicious Asian Chicken Salad and Unsweet Tea. The line went out the door and the atmosphere was as festive and convivial as if we were at a world premiere or a Famous Rock Star Concert. The line moved rapidly, as the employees (mostly smiling, polite, and energetic Black People) worked efficiently and accurately to make sure everybody was served.
While I was eating, one of the aforementioned smiling, polite, and energetic Black People came by, bused my table, and refilled my drink.
What’s not to like?
Meanwhile, across the street, the abandoned K-Mart (5 years empty!) has been turned into a Hobby Lobby!
All I can say is, “HALLELUJAH!”

Big to do in NYC of course because they feel like homeless should be eligible
3 CFA’s within 3miles of where I live here in the burbs of Ft. Lauderdale.
No other fast feed exists in my mind. CFA is THE BEST!
Nothing really all that great. I like it because the menu is simple and consistent. Also they are very clean and friendly workers. You won’t see any gold tooth or tatted up gang banger looking animals working there.
Friendly, clean, great customer service and good food.
I was ordering a chicken biscuit and my card was declined. I can’t remember why at the time. I was embarrassed and said wait just a minute let me give you another card. I think it was because Discover decided I had used it too many times out of town and did their fraud alert thing they like to do.
Window clerk said..no worries..it’s on us. I felt bad as I drove away because I got a free sandwich and I could have paid for it with another card.
