Ted Cruz couldn’t get anyone in the Senate to back him tonight as he tried to get a ban on Planned Parenthood funding and a linkage of the Iran Nuclear deal in a government funding bill. He stood alone on the Senate floor.
After this Cruz launched into an hour speech, one that Mark Levin just tweeted out saying it’s a MUST LISTEN. I haven’t heard the whole thing yet but didn’t want to keep it from you while I checked it out.

Personally, I think this is one of the best speeches I’ve heard in many many many years by anyone holding office. This man has earned the nomination IMO...nobody touches him for standing for the people.
When they shun him, they shun many of us...
He said that if Republican voters have 20 items on their wishlist, McConnell and Boehner would only have 2 of those on their own lists. But the 20 items on the big corporations of K Street’s lists would exactly match the items on McConell’s and Boehner’s lists.
He said McConnell had decided that unless he could get the 60 or 67 votes needed to override a veto (which he never can), then he won’t even try, but will just vote with the Democrats. It’s the same as if the Democrats still held both houses.
He said McConnell and Boehner were going to give in on Planned Parenthood, on the Iran deal, and on raising the deficit cap (among other things).
Lots more - I thought those were the most interesting.

Also, Rand Paul and Rubio helped him last time, and maybe they don’t want to help Cruz now because they are also running for POTUS.
However, they might have commitments related to running for president, so I don’t want to judge until I know the facts.
I’m fairly sure Mike Lee must have an important commitment, because he is great friends w/Cruz, and NOT running for prez.
