What is sustainable development?
The United Nations defines sustainable development as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs...
What are the Sustainable Development Goals to be adopted today?
[snip]
But what are the goals exactly?
End poverty in all forms; end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture; ensure inclusive and equitable quality education; achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls; ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all; ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all; promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment; build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation; reduce inequality within and among countries; make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable; ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns; take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts; conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources; protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and...
Why now?
[snip]
Do we need another set of global goals?
[snip]
Who foots the bill for the implementation of the agenda?
[snip]
How enthusiastic is civil society, given that it has been part of the consultative provcess of drafting the SDGs?
[snip]
If its adopted today, what next?
The 17 SDGs and 169 targets of the new agenda will be monitored and reviewed using a set of global indicators. This framework of indicators is still to be developed and is currently being reviewed by an Inter Agency and Expert Group on SDG Indicators. The UN Statistical Commission will finalise these markers or indicators, which will naturally demand capacity-building on data collection in countries, by March 2016.

One World Government, One World Standard of Living and a One World Religion. That’s pretty much all you need to know. Oh and they have a pretty cool mark to identify you as well.
The unwritten essence of UN Sustainable Goals is to suck America and the other western democracies dry.

Global control of every aspect of your life. (It’s for the children, I suppose.)
Probably left out that the only way to do this successfully is to make Islam the only and required religion.
Once that happens, all of modern civilization and its attendant evils will dry up and go away, along with a substantial portion of the human population.
Instant sustainability - with all remaining populations of humans in the same sinking boat - mission accomplished!
Can anyone define "Access to"? It usually means someone else has to pay for your access.
Sounds so very lofty.
I guess if they reveal that the result instead will be to turn the entire world into a 3rd world $hithole, it’d be hard to get people on board.
America-haters like the POTUS and Soros just can’t wait to bring the industrialized countries down to their knees.
See word, sustainability, think population reduction.
Replace "development" with "government spending" in the definition.
I avoid businesses that aspire to “ sustainability”. That says obama bot to me.
It’s like Obamacare...everybody now has “access” to cheap, high-quality care through their mandated insurance, but nobody can afford the deductibles.
To get a radical egalitarian society (a utopia) is impossible. Everyone is unique and Individuality makes people ALWAYS UNEQUAL in MANY WAYS.
To get equality-—they have to dumb down all the intelligent and kill all the mentally deficient (useless eaters) and control everything we do and say and think——so we are unified-—equally slaves.
The only “equal” that is important for FREE cultures is Equal UNDER THE LAWS (elites aren’t our masters and aren’t allowed to herd and control us). The Leftists are doing it now with Common Core (Marxist system) and the controlled MSM agitprop machine—the monopoly has to be dismantled. Without Freedom of Information—we are controlled.
Without Virtue, there is no Freedom or civil society. That is WHY ALL JUST LAWS promote PUBLIC VIRTUE at ALL TIMES-——when it does that, there is incentive for people to be virtuous (free from tyranny)
As Solzhenitsyn stated, even a little bit of Socialism rots the Soul. How-—you have “Laws” that promote vice, theft, and punishes the good and rewards evil and corruption. Vice always makes slaves for the elites to easily control.
Manipulation of the vocabulary is a major prerequisite for the triumph of the left.
“Sustainability” is to the environment as is “progressive” to politics as is “choice” to morality. As general terms, who can be opposed to sustainability or progress or free choice? But those terms are fuzzy enough that one can stuff as many leftie specifics into each as one likes. Which is exactly what happens.
To some extent, we saw the same thing with the term “affirmative action” - who wants to oppose making a good faith effort to find qualified minority candidates for given positions even though the term is easily distorted to equate to quotas.
Newspeak definition: “Sustainable” equals unaccountable.
This creation of a new lexicon is old stuff. For the US the EPA was very good at this. Industrial operations were changed/designated differently to make rulings. A building became an operation for pollution control. EPA Nationally and locally became loaded with lawyers who were taught how to manipulate the words to make their rulings enforceable. The environmental movement became so overwhelming that all POTUSA have succumbed.
Just as the smallest compromise with bad policy is like adding a little sewage to your drinking water supply.
Quite a simple plan really, eliminate civilization, and revert to feudalism.
It’s not an original idea though. Nimrod tried it with the tower at Babel. God thought it was a very bad idea.
