It's not really news anymore when a poll finds former Florida Governor Jeb Bush far below "frontrunner" status. The best-funded of the Republican establishment candidates has struggled for months, and never achieved the sort of advantage that Mitt Romney, John McCain, or George W. Bush did in the years before they became the party's nominee.
Still, the new WMUR/CNN poll out of New Hampshire -- which has Jeb Bush tied for 5th place with John Kasich, well in back of Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina, and just behind Ben Carson and Marco Rubio -- suggests that the months of weak numbers have created a voter impression that badly undercuts Bush. In July, the last time this poll was conducted, Bush pulled 16 percent of the state's Republican voters. More than twice as many, 37 percent, nonetheless said that Bush had "the best chance of winning in the general election next November."
In today's poll, Bush has fallen to 7 percent in a ballot test. He's fallen even further on the "best chance of winning" measure. Now, only 16 percent of voters say he's their most electable Republican, while 27 percent say that of Trump.
You could spin this all sorts of ways. None of the remaining candidates -- no, not even Jim Gilmore -- crack into double digits on the electability question. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has told countless crowds that his message of a broader, more diverse, less law-and-order crazed GOP can win, and his reward is only 2 percent of Republicans calling him their most electable candidate.

The Gope’s dream ticket would not be Bush/Rubio or Rubio/Bush, they are both from Florida, they will select a VP from another state, most likely with a lot of electoral votes (possibly Cruz?)
The same Republican voters who saw this man as the bees knees because he had an "R" after his name...
>>>Who and where are the 37% of dimwit republicans that think Jeb has the best chance of beating Hillary? He has no chance of beating Hillary!<<<
Maybe they misunderstood what the word “beating” meant.
I’m thinking a Clinton / Fiorina PPV Death Match. Trump can Referee and Ben Carson could be the Ringside Doctor.
Jeb could be the guy that wipes the Blood off the Mat, with his tongue.
They're from the same state.
Constitutionally that ticket could happen, but one of the candidates would have to forfeit the state's electoral votes so such tickets never happen.
Right now, though, Fiorina is more likely to push Bush out of the race than vice versa. Bush and Rubio are both more likely to go under than to make it to the end.
I salute your Talent and Timely Delivery.
Never happen. Cruz is too principled. Normally what you are saying is correct, but they will use Rubio to appeal to a nation wide constituency - Hispanics.
Put a mustache on Thad Cochran and he’s a dead ringer for that above pic of Jed Clampett.
"A cakewalk. That's what they told me. They told me this nomination business was all pre-arranged and all I had to do was show up in Cleveland for the convention and read from the teleprompter the things they wanted me to say. But here I am, in some VFW hall in some obscure New Hampshire cowtown, fighting for my political life. I told this crowd my best Donald Trump joke in Spanish to try and lighten things up and dead silence. Dead silence. Don't these unenlightened people know a word of Spanish!
It wasn't supposed to be this way dammit! This was supposed to be a DONE deal! Now they got me going out to some cornfield in Iowa this weekend to speak to another group of sleepyheads who expect me to speak about farm subsidies or some such crap. I can't handle this anymore! When I get a hold of my brother, I'm going to give him a piece of my mind. He told told me not to worry, just say and do what my staffers told me and the nomination would be mine. Instead, all the polls have me at 6%.
Six percent! It makes me just want to crawl under a desk and hide out of shame.
And my mother....what was she thinking when she gave that Matt Lauer an interview? Doesn't she know he's a snake! Gawdalmighty, I've had just about enough of this nonsense. Somebody get me off this Crazy Train..."
This is good news. After having two President Bushes in my lifetime, I’m Bushed.

**************
Texas will be in the GOP column regardless of the GOP candidate. So the VP will come from a swing state.
JMO
I actually think Buddy Ebson would’ve made a much better candidate then Jeb! Ooooohhh Doggy!
Hey, it would get the illegal alien vote Bush is so fixated on...
Jeb is the weakest establishment “frontrunner” ever.
Some people are STILL fantasizing about getting Romney in. LOLOLOL.
It cannot be Bush/Rubio. Both Floridians. W gotta way with two Texans because Cheney had represented Wyoming to Congress, but you can’t have both members of a ticket represent the same state.

LOL
and now Lindsay Graham is running his kamercials on Red Sox games ... reaching the NH cable TV audience ... pathetic.
here is the poll. Rubio on the rise, Kasich falters in his targeted state.

Pssssssssst! Whatever the RINO Dream ticket might be, it won't be Bush/Rubio.
They're from the same state...
