You speak truth about dogs being a good judge of character. Good for the Doberman defending you against the child molester!
Cats also seem to have some ability in that area. My mother had a Siamese cat who was absolutely awful to certain men who she dated. The cat, for reasons known only to its feline brain, was fiercely loyal to my mother and no other human or animal. Some people, however, elicited an immediate negative reaction far beyond the norm. My mother said in many cases she found out later that the cat must have seen something bad in certain men that my mother didn’t understand until much later.
Someday someone will do a scientific study on this. Maybe — and this is purely a guess — the fantastic sense of smell which dogs have, and which allows them to detect explosives and drugs in tiny quantities, also allows dogs to detect the smell of hormones or some other substance given off by people with bad intentions.
Of course, human beings have human reason which animals don’t have. I’m not suggesting that dogs and cats are the best judges. But I **AM** suggesting that smooth speech and flirtatious clothing can confuse people in ways that don’t work with dogs and cats.
Dogs understand loyalty. When properly trained, they won’t be bribed or confused by treats or petting. It would be nice if humans were as loyal as dogs.
I could not possibly disagree more. We need to see this stuff right from the mouths of those advocating it. The majority of America doesn't yet understand where the radical leftists want to take us, and pooh-poohs conservatives who warn what's coming. Seeing articles like this from mainstream media which are respected in liberal circles, not just from allegedly biased conservative publications, gives us the ammunition needed to prove our case.
If we have any hope left of turning our country around, it will center on giving articles like this the widest possible attention to wake Americans up before it's too late.

That, MKJessup, seems like the right approach.

I understand the argument that highly offensive and explicit stuff doesn't belong in a “family publication” where unsuspecting readers, including children, might see it. However, Free Republic isn't designed for children. It is designed for conservative activists. We need to have access to these things, but at the same time, posting the headline and an excerpt, as MKJessup suggested, seems like a good compromise so people who don't want to see this kind of stuff don't have to see the gory details.

That is absolutely right, and it is why we need to see these articles for what they are — early warning signs of what's coming over the horizon.

After the Supreme Court decision on gay marriage, I see no possible way to avoid the inevitable legalization of polygamous marriage between consenting adults, and with minors under 18 whose parents have given legal consent to a polygamous marriage.
Parental consent to underage marriages has been allowed for a very long time, probably for as long as we have had marriage licenses. Back in the 1800s when many males left school after eighth grade and a 16-year-old may have had a good income from farming or a trade, that wasn't a bad thing if the parents agreed a 16-year-old was ready for marriage.
Today, however, the longstanding precedents allowing underage marriages and the common practice in polygamist circles of second marriages to much younger women seem guaranteed to lead to acceptance of these relationships once polygamy is legalized.
Once polygamy is legalized, which it probably has to be, and once male-female marriages between older adult men and adolescent girls are allowed, which they probably have to be, I can see no possible legal argument for saying unmarried man-boy relationships are forbidden when the same relationship between an older man and teenage girl could result in a legal marriage. Maybe for a while parental consent will be the key for unmarried relationships. But it's only a matter of time until some 16-year-old boy gets manipulated into suing for his right to a relationship with an older man.
Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am.
But I don't see any legal way to avoid this as a logical conclusion of what the Supreme Court has decided.
I stated my pov, you stated yours. That is the base principle of Free Republic. Enjoy and support it.
I think most people here did not read the article. You’re a rapist if you act on pedophile tendencies. Not all pedophiles are pederasts. If you think you may be a danger to children and seek help before you do...you should be taken very seriously.
Fortunately this article being here helps prevent Salon from erasing who and what they are.
I knew this would backfire
More Obama legacy
If one hasn’t acted on this ... Remove tow items and heavily medicate ... If one has, use an Iranian crane.
I had pedo brother in law. I was about twelve. I fought him off, he laughed...I kept quiet for many years, decades... then he started being really mean to my mom and me, too. So I told her what he did to me when I was a kid. So who got blamed and banished from the family? Me, of course. They needed a scapegoat. The only bright star.. he lost both legs to diabetes. Karma can be pretty mean to evil ones. He also molested my little sis, twice. We were so young we didn’t know what was happening to us at the time. Just that we didn’t like it!!!!
What? But if one self identifies as a Serial Killer who are YOU to judge ? /sarcasm
While the subject of all of them is truly vile to the nth degree, I'm not carping to promote heads in sand; rather, it seems to be some kind of 'pedo awareness' spam deluge.
Doubt there’s any such conspiracy. Just a guess that someone wanted others to see that Free Republic has a huuuuuge archive of articles readily available when events as the following occur:

We absolutely knew this would be next. The left will embrace it and the APA will eventually tell us it is normal and healthy, along with incest and bestiality.
Saw that title at some point yesterday, but was loathe to delve into it .. assumed it was just more (unsurprising) Enemedia CYA SOP.
You, my FRiend, are quite naive. Ignoring the perverts will not protect children. Not
Who remembers the movie Lolita? From what I read, she was originally 12 years old but in the movie she was 14. It was on TCM recently. Pedophilia is not new. We read about child porn busts. I think there is much more of this happening than we can imagine and the left will push to decriminalize it.
Age of consent makes these people law breakers but they are sicko’s.
If he has touched a kid sexually, then he IS a monster.
Otherwise, he is merely troubled and/or mentally ill.
