If you just listened to the talking heads in the lamestream media this morning, you would think Trump was devastated last night in the second Republican debate. Not so fast. According to multiple polls this morning, Trump was the runaway winner once again last night and he had zinger after zinger for his esteemed opponents. Frankly, I expected last night to be a bloodbath with pit bulls trying to savage Trump at every turn. But it didnt look that way to me. As much as the moderators would have liked for everyone to rip each others throats out, it was fairly civil and professional. I especially enjoyed Ted Cruz who is extremely presidential. Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina and Mike Huckabee were also good. But Trump held the spotlight once again it was the Trump show all the way.
From YouTube:
Donald Trump came out swinging at the CNN GOP debate on Wednesday. Here are his top zingers of the night.

At least one poll this morning said that Trump won the debate with 60% of pollers. Another said he won with 23%. CNN was quick to headline that Trumps chances of getting the nomination went down after last night. Thats not true and they know it. If anything, they went up. Its obvious that the Joyful Tortoise, Jeb Bush, is not going to make it. Neither is Rand Paul or Scott Walker. Christie or Kasich? Please. In the end this isnt about debates, its about what the American voters want and right now they overwhelmingly want Trump. They are just that fed up with illegal immigration and the border issue. His viable opponents at this stage are Cruz, Carson and Fiorina. If Trumps numbers keep going the way they are, the GOP will not be able to stop him from being the nominee. Not ethically, that is. I actually thought the debate last night was much better than the first one.
Yes, and the one of the parts I like is his canny way of knowing what to do when...and it turns out right when he does it...
Not going to expose anything else just yet....
He has implemented a Paradigm Shift (that's a whack on the side of the head with a 2X4 for those living in Rio Linda) on the political process
and there is nothing that the GOPe, MSM, liberals, lefties and assorted socialists and communist can do about it.
Leonidas had 300 to hold the heathen hordes of Xerxes at bay
Trump has a key staff of 35 that defeats the combined GOPe, MSM and dims.
and like Leonidas he sports a Mullet
I couldn’t watch the debate. Busy week here. Does anyone have a link to the full debate? Thanks in advance.
I think the thing that would concern me about a Trump Presidency is that he will be in an environment far different from the business world he’s used to.
Possibly. But it might not be that different. He basically has to negotiate with congress, the courts, foreign leaders, etc etc. That's basically what he does.
IMO, that's what they are supposed to do. Ten minutes ago I read a Yahoo article about a "slight tectonic shift" of backers away from Jeb Bush. When I tried to find it to post here, it was gone.
Basically, it was that Jeb's backers, after seeing his performance last night, are softly tip-toeing (no pun intended) away from him and are now looking at Carly or Kasich - two other pliable RINOs.
True, but in the corporate world, they must pretty much follow the law. In government circles, they do not.
I have to agree, and I’ve been sort of a resigned Trump supporter. Every time I heard him speak, his retorts were strained and really didn’t speak to political fact. He sounded like the bully in a schoolyard mocking or mimicking his victims and trying to cover his butt on every response.
Carly stole the show, IMO, even if she doesn’t stand a chance in the long run. Cruz was poised, but my wife, an unseasoned political observer, felt that Cruz sounded like a politician more than a heartfelt, real person.
I felt that Carson didn’t get enough time to speak, but his silence is an advantage for him, I believe.
He is winning.
I watched the entire debate and, at times, I felt it sounded like a school playground at recess. I knew all the low percentage candidates were out to get Trump and they didn’t disappoint. The moderators did their best to start the infighting with the “he said this about you so we would like your reaction” type “questions”. Good entertainment perhaps but short on substance.
I didn’t think anyone was devastated last night. These are the grades I gave them right toward the end of the show. I didn’t think anyone fell on their face, drooled, or showed up in a blue bunny suit. I thought Cruz, Carson, and Christie did best. I thought Kasich did worst, but even he got a B. They were all pretty good, really. I had gripes with each of them, but style, communication, gross errors, etc., I didn’t think anyone did poorly. They all came across well.
Grades
Paul. B+
RUBIO. B+
Huckabee B+
Cruz. A+
Fiorina. B+
Bush B+
Trump. B+
Christie. A-
Kasich. B
Carson. A-
Walker. B+

Hahaha. Trump’s supporters immune to facts? So far all I have seen post debate is the anti-Trump brigade out in force saying that a whole array of polls don’t count. Trump won every post debate online poll by a YUGE margin. That is a fact. But the ‘fact embracers’ say that is a lie/illusion; the real winner of the debate is the one fielding ~4% in the various polls.
It’s a whole other world for the Trump haters. Up is down and black is white.
Facts about the substance of....well, any issue. Trump, and his supporters, are immune.
I think Trump is nothing but a Showman. He is a Liberal and has always associated himself with the Democratic Party.
So after you finished reading Time to get Tough, Trump’s policy opus, what were your thoughts on it?
I haven’t read it, and frankly don’t plan to. I know all I need to know about Mr. Trump from watching his career over the past 30+ years.
It is things like bringing a black man to an event who talked about his promising teenaged son killed by an illegal immigrant repeatedly deported for crime.
It is his focus on jobs, safety and other things people care about first and foremost.
