HahaHA! You claim Trump lacks substance on the issues, but you refuse to read the substantive book he has written on the issues. That is funny. It’s also hypocritical and idiotic, not to mention sad.

It would be like saying, ‘Mark Steyn is a bad writer.’ Somebody says, ‘How many of his books and columns have you read?’ You say, ‘None, but I’ve watched him long enough to know he’s a lousy writer.’

Pathetic.

If you noticed, every time a candidate got too deep into substance, Tapper or Bash would interrupt and cut them off.

Dana Bash even got into the debate when the topic was funding Planned Parenthood. My comment in the live thread:

If he’s such a master of policy, why doesn’t that come through in his speeches/interviews/debates/etc? Why must I rely on a heavily edited (likely ghostwritten) book?

There are 17 candidates - must I read each of their campaign books?

Careful with all that bile;you’ll choke on it one day. [Unless of course you have one shred of evidence that Trump doesn’t write his own books.]

I can’t believe we’re even having this discussion. It is theater of the absurd. You vacuously claim Trump has no substance on the issues. However, you are boycotting the entire, substantive book he wrote on the issues.

No one can be this dense. Otoh, if it’s an act, it’s a good one. You do a cunning impersonation of a person sans intellect.

What I keep saying is that he has not spoken substantively on any policy issue. Why is it too much to expect a Presidential candidate to have at least some mastery of the issues of the day?

And do you really believe he wrote it by himself? First, every previous Trump book had a co-writer, so why would this one be different? Second, every campaign book is heavily ghostwritten, even as far back as my FReeper namesake.

I was driving this morning, listening to Glenn Beck. He is absolutely horrible and hates Trump with a purple passion. All he did was slam him and I had to change the channel it was so awful.

It’s like talking to a child. A spoiled child.

Trump has written a policy manifesto. It’s clear, easy to read, systematic and highly informative.

You don’t have to read it.

But it is just snotty to claim his issues have no substance when they have been lucidly laid out for the world to see.

You have three options.

One, read the book and educate yourself.

Two, skip the book but have the decency to stop bellyaching that Trump hasn’t laid out his policies in detail.

Three, skip the book and continue to jerkishly carp to the effect that Trump lacks substance on the issues.

For a Trump hater, the choice is a no-brainer...literally.

And oh btw, Trump is not oobligated to alter the formula of his WINNING campaign if you refuse to read the book. So long as the info is out there, it’s not his problem if you refuse to avail yourself of it.

I actually thought it was all chest thumping without substance. But I loved the intense back and forth with him and Carly. That was some good TV. And it was probably what CNN wanted. They wanted to see the GOP tear at one another.

I thought he had a lame answer for his Atlantic City bankruptcy. Blaming the business climate? A good businessmen doesn’t make bad bets in the first place.

To quote Ronald Reagan, there you go again. Insult, insult, insult. It’s the Trumpette way.

And if you’d read what I wrote, you’d see that my complaint is that Trump has so far been unable to speak substantively on the issues of the day. Not in his speeches. Not in the debates. Not in interviews. It’s all empty platitudes and slogans.

It’s one thing for a candidate to write a book (or have one written for him). It’s another thing to have enough of a command of the issues of the day to be able to speak authoritatively and substantively on them. Trump has shown himself unwilling or unable to do the latter. Which is one YUGE reason why the summer of Trump will most certainly fade once voters start paying attention.

Is there ever going to be a debate where the “moderators” ask the candidates about policy issues alone — and not focus on personalities?

If they did that, Trump would have to drop out.

you are a very typical ill-informed, but opinionated Trump Basher... Have you read “Time to Get Tough” (released on Amazon this month) or even the Art of the Deal...??? If you did you would know this man actually has a tremendous heart and a head to go with it. There’s actually a lot of there there. With you, maybe not so much.

Again, I ask, how much did you pay for said books? Not only do you purchase his published nonsense, but you hawk it to the rest of the 27% of the republican party that is willing to listen to you. Trump is the consummate salesman. He’s got you and a third of the republican party eating out of his hands.

‘And oh btw, Trump is not obligated to alter the formula of his WINNING campaign if you refuse to read the book.’

Here is the answer I already gave to your facile complaint. It does seem we have a problem. You want the right to whine about insults, all the while being unable or unwilling to read what is written to you. Kind of, ‘I have no reading comprehension skills—but if you point that out, you’re a meanie.’

Yes Trump supporters don’t care about debates. What is some career politician going to say to change our minds? Of course they are all slick talkers that’s their job. I just remind myself that they are career politicians and will never accomplish any of the stuff they say they will do. Will not happen.
