SIMI VALLEY, California Most reporters continued to sit while the National Anthem played at the start of the GOPs presidential primary debate.
Breitbart News captured a video showing most reporters and support staff sitting down, instead of standing as most Americans typically do.

Well, that picture contained a thousand words; none of them kind.

I guess I really don’t see much wrong here - these are people working on a live event; most would be working through the anthem, feeding information to newsrooms around the world. I wouldn’t expect the camera operators, board operators, lighting, sound, and security to stop what they were doing either.

I do that.
But, in fairness I can’t get too excited about this story. I see that some are standing, but many of the others seem to be working.
They are there to report on this event, they are not really taking part in it. I wouldn’t judge their patriotism based on whether or not they stood for the national anthem in these circumstances.

Other than the Super Bowl or World Series you are hard pressed to see/hear the anthem played on tv events anymore. They cut in at kick off or first pitch or when Bob Costas wants to whine about his menstrual cycle.
