China reportedly compiling 'Facebook' of U.S. government employees

A private industry IT security firm tells Fox News that personal data stolen over the span of several high-profile U.S. cyber breaches is being indexed by China's intelligence service into a massive Facebook-like network.

According to CrowdStrike founder Dmitri Alperovitch, Chinese hackers are using information gained from the breaches of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, as well as intrusions into the Anthem and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield health insurance networks, to build a complete profile of federal employees in what the company calls a "Facebook of Everything."

"That can now be used to embarrass you publicly and force you to work for the Chinese government," Alperovitch told Fox News. "It's, in effect, a private version of Facebook with much more detail about your life than even Facebook has that the Chinese now have access to." Current and former intelligence officials echoed the assessment.

As Fox News has reported, the most sensitive information stolen in the OPM breach was lifted from what is known as the Standard Form 86, or SF-86. The 127-page security clearance application is essentially a road map to your life. It contains highly detailed information on everything from where an applicant lived and worked, to personal references, family members, friends and associates, as well as drug history and intimate health information.

What's startling is the fact that virtually all government employees and contractors who hold the top echelon of U.S. security clearances were impacted by the OPM breach, even the Director of the FBI. James Comey joked at an intelligence and national security summit last week that had his SF-86 been stored in a strongly encrypted database "maybe someone wouldn't be reading it today."

The good news is that Americans don’t believe in shame anymore so there is nothing to blackmail over unless they kidnap loved ones.

Comey is becoming more of a “joke” every day and that bodes ill for America’s safety.

Despite his reputation, I have yet to hear any common sense coming from his mouth about just who the real threats to America’s security are.

Let’s give him a little help.

1. Communist China
2. Criminal/Marxist/Czarist Russia
3. Iran and its allies, Hezbollah (they killed a lot of Americans), Hamas (also killing Americans)
4. ISIS and friends
5. Drug Cartels (foreign and domestic)
6. Street gangs in the US
7. The cop killers who follow the remarks of Obama, Holder, Mosby (Maryland), Sharpton, Farrakham (not a spelling error, for those of you who have a sense of humor)
8. Liberals
9. Politicians

Hey Jim. Does this help you? I was working with Hoover’s men when you were either a wet dream or in diapers. Those guys knew how to run good intell ops. Your field agents are smarter and more efficient than you are. Time to resign and become a talking head at CNN.

That’s not all bad. There are quite a few bureaucrats at the IRS, EPA, BLM, ATF, DEA, CIA, NSA, DOJ, DHS that could be embarrassed and blackmailed. These individuals will be compromised, so there’s your argument and justification for throwing these bums out and crippling these horrible and tyrannical bureaucracies.

The Federal government is the enemy of the people; disabling their abilities would be a blessing.

Easiest solution. Lay them all off and repost only necessary jobs. Hire only people without BCBS histories.

The problem isn’t just blackmail. They have current performance appraisals and position information, which with the SF86, gives them a comprehensive list of everyone in DoD complete with current address and phone, friends, lovers, etc. In the past if they wanted to conduct espionage it would cost millions just to figure out a pool of candidates to target, and learn enough about each of them to figure out which ones might be targeted. The information was not reliable, so there was a very low success rate. Now they have ground truth for everyone, pick a topic, here are five hundred people working this. Weed out the weakest ten or twenty, e.g. substance abuse problems, mental illness, weakness for the opposite sex, homosexuals... it makes their job way too easy. Moreover, if someone has information they really want they can simply kidnap them, or threaten family members. Or just set up key leaders by planting kiddie porn on their computer to destroy the projects. It puts every employee who works on sensitive military projects at great risk.
