Ben Carson took a personal shot at Donald Trump on Wednesday, questioning the authenticity of the businessman's faith, a move that suggests new combativeness between the top GOP contenders.
"I've realized where my success has come from, and I don't in any way deny my faith in God," Carson told reporters at a campaign rally in Anaheim, California, when asked about the biggest difference between him and the Republican presidential front-runner. "And I think that is the big difference."
"By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life and that's a very big part of who I am," said Carson, paraphrasing a Bible passage. "I don't get that impression with (Trump.) Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't get that."
Carson, who is a Seventh Day Adventist, has made faith a cornerstone of his campaign message. Powered by the backing of evangelicals, Carson is polling highly in Iowa, a state where about half of caucus-goers this winter are expected to be born-again Christians.
Trump's, a tough-talking New Yorker who made his fortune in real estate, is not known for harboring deep religious beliefs. He's said earlier this summer that he's never sought forgiveness from God, and then referred to communion as "my little wine and my little cracker."
But the Republican is increasingly sharing elements of his faith. Trump, identifying as a Presbyterian, has started to regularly say on the campaign trail that the Bible is his favorite book -- though he declined to share his favorite verse when asked by a reporter last month.

I believe that it was rumor that was not properly dealt with torpedoed Cain’s candidacy. Carson, as far as I know. has no skeletons. But then again he is not a threat to the anointed GOPe candidate.
Arnold didn’t have the business instincts that Trump has. Arnold also wilted under pressure, giving up core principals. I don’t believe that Trump is that pliable.....but one never can be 100% sure.
I watched Kelly tonight. She tried to nail Huckabee over the KY County Clerk thing. She looked like a deer in the headlights when he stated the truth about her complying with her oath and being in compliance with the KY Constitution about marriage being being two people of different sexes. He also pointed out that there is no Federal law making same sex marriages legal. The SCOTUS just plucked an opinion out of thin air and that opinion is not a law.
Well, not at present. Trump goes bye bye and watch out.
BTW Cain’s problem was about to go postal as a number of women poised to come forward.
He dropped out and their meal ticket never got punched.
You are right that Trump would not wilt like Arnold, but I worry that Trump is using his negotiating skill right now to con conservatives, and when he runs in the general, he will say whatever he needs to say to win, and if he wins, he’ll do whatever he wants, but who knows what that will be. I assume like most New York Republicans he will be fiscally conservative, socially liberal, and not that interested in foreign policy or the military.Anyway, the net effect would be the same as Arnold, a populist who wins on one platform, and governs on another.
That is a chance one takes with a Trump candidacy/presidency. However with all of the other candidates their financial situations require that they are for sale. They have the very real potential to be controlled by interests not necessarily OUR interests. Trump, being self-financed, will be controlled by his interests which hopefully are America’s interests. If it turns out he is a con, then you have Jeb with a comb-over.
Religion and faith are very personal. Some people of great faith never even go to churches or belong to organized religions; and just dont wear it on the sleeve.

Very well stated! You just described ME! Thank you!
Heidi Cruz is 7th Day Adventist.
***********************************
Heidi isn’t a candidate. ....What’s your proof? Some hokie Wiki article?
>> Also she has Fiorina coming up supposedly to bash Trump.
With her face?
Carson isn’t a fool to be ‘faked’.
No doubt best campaign efforts on his part, and that’s certainly commendable.
And Kelly did bring up the subject about her “face”.
It appeared not to faze Fiorina as she wasn’t giving Megyn Kelly what she wanted as answers. I saw disappointment on Kelly’s face after she pressed the issue with Fiorina.
Curses.
Good for Carly.
Unfortunately, she’s being exploited by the GOP-e and it’s ailles.
Wonder why all the exit polls show the democrat winning? It's to depress any Republicans still voting later in the day.
Every one knows those exit polls are fake
and I remember how there was a statistical graph that clearly showed with extrapolation how all of these polls were faked for the Kerry - Bush election up until close to the election
you people are too trusting of the media, the news media, polls and of politicians.
here is a link from freerepublic 2004 that shows Kerry way ahead of bush . but he wasn't cause those were faked polls.Read it and weep.

“WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic front-runner John Kerry is leading President Bush in head-to-head matchups in two polls released Monday.
The Massachusetts senator was leading Bush 54 46 in a CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll and 51-43 in a national poll by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. Both polls were taken over the weekend. “
I read in an interview she did with the NY Times a couple years ago that her parents were SDA missionaries. She lived in Kenya and Nigeria for periods of time as a child.
Currently Sen. Cruz and his family attend First Baptist Houston.
You’re right, and yes the MSM is the Country’s greatest threat.
Thanks, kalee!
I grew up across the street from a SDA family in the 1940-50’s. Wife seldom allowed outside the house and two daughters not allowed to play with all of us other kids the same ages. When the two daughters attended same schools in area, they were not permitted to wear makeup or lipstick at the age when other girls did. SDA and the father were very restrictive.
From what I’ve seen of Heidi on TV and have read about her positions in the business world, I could not imagine her being a follower of the SDA.
The only time pollsters miss is in off year elections because that's about 465 seats to poll, and nobody has the money to do multiple polls for that many seats. Foreign polling in ENG and Israel missed.
But in presidential elections, especially with this many polls, they are pretty accurate. You can tell an outlier like the one that one had Carson and Trump tied in IA. Subsequent polls showed that had Carson too high.
You can continue to dismiss polls, as I imagine you will, but you do so at your own peril. After twice doing that, I won't again.
“Except with no real ideas, just a nice man with some extra pigment.” That’s the long and the short of it. He’s almost a textbook example of a token.
I originally liked Carson but he has several “qualities” that make me more leery of him than the anti-Trump-bots are of Trump.
