“Not always...”
In my neighborhood, there is one couple who has stuck it out when she went through a terrible bout of cancer.
Another is a couple in their 30’s who live modestly in order for her to stay at home with their adorable babies.
Still another is a husband and wife who run a successful insurance agency together.
One couple has stuck it out through various financial challeges without calling it quits.
Across the street is a very elderly couple who have been together nearly their entire lives.
And caddy corner are two empty nesters who took in the wife’s disabled parents when they had no where else to go. They take it day to day. But they know one thing, they will continue to wake up every morning to a spouse who can be counted on.
I’ll admit, many of them are in their 40’s or older. So much has been lost in our current culture and with marriage now defined as ‘whatever’, I don’t have a lot of hope for the future of the family in America. Feminism has helped finish it off as well.
But, not always.:)
Women have become breadwinners and now consider men optional. All they have to do to get what they want is go to court and they can effectively destroy a man. As a defense, men have become homosexuals.
They desire that which they sought to systematically cull from society? They have reaped what they have sown and found the fruits thereof to be bitter.
Your first two sentences are an excellent distillation of the overall degradation of both men and women in the last 40+ years.
College educated women have higher standards than the bar hoping bed hoping high school drop out skanks.

Pajama boy doesn’t interest any straight girls. I don’t detect ANY testosterone in him.
And what decent man is going to want to commit to being with a New York liberal woman who’s had more riders than California Chrome?

The author advocates women chasing after men. You know, there’s nothing wrong with letting a man know you’re interested...in fact, it helps. But like I used to tell friends (who rarely listened)-—if you chase a man down, it’s a turn off.
Nowadays college-educated men are more likely to be found throwing out lattes at Starbucks.
There’s nothing wrong with a blue-collar guy. The mechanic who’s worked on our cars for years has his own successful garage and is a millionaire. But there are a lot of women who wouldn’t look twice at him because he’s covered in grease during the day.
I intend to teach my sons that they should marry at or above their level of educational attainment (which I expect will be considerable for my boys). We have a responsibility to future generations to counteract the demographic dumbing down of “fundamentally transformed” America.

I wonder if that’s the problem. If you figure that successfully completing college selects for people with, just to pick a number, an IQ of 107 and higher, I wonder what the areas under the male and female bell curves look like above 107. Since males have a slightly right shifted, but broader and flatter, distribution, it may be the case that there are fewer males in the 107+ IQ population than females.
Only if there is an intentional roughness penalty after the tackle ...

I know some good marriages wonderful stuff...
BUT most, nope.. it’s a mine field.. can get yer heart blown off..
Actually both genders have problems but especially white men..
And that’s another thing.
I got married in 1996 and I’m thankful I don’t have to deal with the males out there today...although most of the pajama boys are in their twenties, I guess.
Me and my wife compromised. We put the toilet seat lid down.
