Rowan Co. Clerk Kim Davis will stay in custody

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis, a Democrat, will stay in custody.

It was a circus in Ashland today, as media, and protesters on both sides of the Kim Davis controversy came nose-to-nose outside the courthouse.

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis appeared before U.S. District Court Judge David Bunning at 11:00 this morning, Bunning had her taken into custody finding her in contempt for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. Bunning told Davis that she would remain in jail until she complied with his order.

Davis said “thank you” and was taken from the courtroom by a U.S. Marshal. Davis was not taken out in handcuffs.

Judge Bunning then called Mrs. Davis’ six deputies into the courtroom, they were told they were free to issue licenses to all applicants while Davis was held in contempt, but if they did not comply they too would face fines or jail time.

Five of the six clerks said they would issue the licenses, the only one to hold out was Mrs. Davis’ son Nathan.

Judge Bunning was not done with Davis though, calling her back into court at 3:30 this afternoon, but Davis did not come. Instead she stayed in custody, her attorney appearing before the judge to tell him that she would not allow any employee to issue licenses in her absence.

Judge Bunning says he will keep Davis in jail for at least a week, and said “I hope that everyone will remain civil. This country has always had disagreements, but what makes this country different from other countries is that we respect the rule of law.”

what makes this country different from other countries is that we respect the rule of law

Is it possible he actually believes that??? I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would believe it anymore.

What does this same jack ass of a judge have the ability to rulw on Hillary as she has broken the law. What about Obama and his law breaker. The Supreme Court deemed Gay marriage, but what about the Saes that did not recognize gay Marriage so those states laws no longer exist as they have been trumped by the Federal Ruling The Supreme Court issued a ruling on a court case it did not issue a law. So in essence the Woman Never has broken any Law. So Bunning is wrong to state it is the Rule of Law.

Absolutely. A political prisoner.

The most vivid example yet of selective/arbitrary enforcement of the law, and how America has become nothing more than a lawless banana-republic at this point. Will people finally wake up? The persecutions are just starting. The Rule of Law is dead in this country. The Constitution right behind it.

We are now ruled by the deviant. It’s going to take much more than elections or some blathering about constitutional rights to extricate ourselves from a nation that is rapidly becoming an entity of great evil.

I’m currently searching Kentucky/West Virginia jail records. If she was arrested she has not been processed. I can’t find her.

Heir Bunning, are those licenses legit without the County Clerk’s signature?

It would definitely be a legal grey area since County Clerk signatures are required. If the clerk's office was vacant that would be one thing, but jail or not she's still the County Clerk.

So a fed prisoner asks Ms Davis what are you in prison for she says being a Christian and the other prisoner says no way that can’t be true!

“respect the rule of law”?!?!?!?!

Not when the vile disgusting hated Obamacare exists contrary to what the Constitution says.

“respect the rule of law”
Not while we have Sanctuary cities or a POTUS who tells ICE not to catch illegals.

“respect the rule of law”

Not when we have thugs at voter booths trying to dissuade people from voting against Obama.

“respect the rule of law”
Not when idiots call for a race war and no one in power does ANYTHING to the racists calling for violence (again, how are the morons that call for a race war any different than Manson?)

“respect the rule of law”?!?!?!?!
They have no respect for the Law of God.

I’m currently searching Kentucky/West Virginia jail records.

It'd be a federal jail.

So she's in contempt of the law and goes to jail.

And tax scofflaw Al Sharpton, who's clearly in contempt of the IRS for millions of dollars, remains free.

This is no different from a clerk refusing to allow a black person to register to vote or approving an application for marriage to a mixed race couple.

Overturning 2000 years of normal marriage and Societal inertia is a little bigger deal than just recognizing interracial marriage, especially for people brought up in Judeo-Christian societies.

The bible tells us that King Solomon was married to a Black Woman. It also tells us that God burned two cities to death for tolerating Homosexuality.

This leaves me with the impression that he doesn't care about the one thing, but that he has strong feelings on the other.

Another example in the bible mentions how the combined might of all the tribes of Israel sacked and burned the city of Benjamin killing "everything that drawith breath", and virtually wiping out the tribe of Benjamin... Because of Homosexuality.

Three cities, all utterly wiped out, as a consequence of tolerating this specific perversion.

Not something to be taken lightly by people who believe in God and the Bible. Pretty big deal in fact.

Has the judge issued her an armband with a cross on it yet?

That is different than these regional jails? If she she really is a political prisoner.

So in Kentucky what would be?
