Tonight, Public Policy Polling gave the Rachel Maddow Show a sneak peek at their results of their August 28-30 poll to be released tomorrow. While the findings at the top of the poll are what we've come to expect from the Republican field - Donald Trump and Ben Carson - securing the top spots - what is more surprising is to find beltway-favored candidates Chris Christie and Rand Paul floundering at the bottom with barely any support.
The poll also shows the tea party character of the Republican Party, with strong birther views and a dubious grasp of some key facts about President Obama and Senator Ted Cruz. ...

Follow up: Do you think Cruz was born in the United states (among Republican voters): 40% yes
Obama and Cruz: Born in the U.S.?
Republican voters: Obama (29% yes), Cruz (40% yes).

This PPP poll apparently has not been released on the net - or I somehow missed it - although I searched diligently for it.

Those 40 percent must have mentally translated “born in” to “born a citizen of”.
What I find amazing is that almost 30% believe Obama was born in the U.S.
So, if his college docs say he was born in Kenya---but he really was born in Hawaii---he liked and committed fraud and perjury on federal and state documents. If a birth cert shows up that is less, shall we say, disputed, it shows he lied.

It never ceases to amaze me that when some people speculate where Obama was born, other people immediately want to smear those people as lacking in important virtues. As even Tom Brokaw admitted — we really don’t know who he is — when Obama seals his records, is reluctant to release any sort of birth certificate until he is forced to, and it is judged spurious by document experts, and his anti-American behavior has always been pronounced, then those are the actions people throw into the mix.
My question would be when and if Obama renounced his Indonesian citizenship.
What's appalling is there wasn't, and still isn't, a commission that determines the eligibility of anyone running for US President as part of filing papers to enterthe race.

Yes, that’s the point. If on his college admission it says anything OTHER than American/USA, in one place or another he was lying-—either on birth cert or on college admissions.

I truly believe that it will all be proved and outed after he is out of the presidency. Our president is one big lie starting from his conception to his birth, to his name, to his education, to his connections, and to what he is doing to the country as president.

I am not a birther, but this was odd. I think O was born in Hi, but those college docs if ever released would be gold.
His own book publicist claimed he was born in Kenya, as did his “wife”. Could they both have gotten such a basic fact of his life wrong?

We all (most of us)agree that Ted Cruz is eligible to be President. He was born in Calgary, Canada. His mother was a US citizen.
So even if Obama was born in Kenya, or on the moon, it doesn’t matter. His mother was also a US citizen which makes him eligible to be President.
