Sorry. You can have socialism or you can have a military. Socialism will always consume all money available and require you to print more. They chose socialism.

Yeah, like this is going to happen given current trends in Britain. Maybe in Israel.

The Dreadnought 2050 seen here is a concept ship that could be controlled by only five sailors sitting at screens, much like games consoles.

First thought was 'Dreadnought, eh? Wonder how it stands up to a salvo of 12" AP'?

With an old and honorable name like that, I'm almost disappointed that it isn't a coal-burner. :-)

An second thought, it looks like something a Bond villain might use to steal nuclear submarines.

So who gets to fight any fires that may break out aboard ship?

This level of technology would seem to exceed the need for ocean-going vessels. all of these weapons and defensive measures could be either protected in land-based installations until deployment or be space-based.

Powered by a fusion reactor? May have to wait a bit for an operating prototype.

“Royal Navy’s Dreadnought 2050 has space-age control room”

“space age”? A bit too generalizing, no?

"Powered by a fusion nuclear reactor or turbines driving silent electric motors for waterjets."

Gibberish. Next they'll claim it will have warp drive.
