A Civil War monument in Petersburg was vandalized at some point early Saturday morning.
The Monument to Union Soldiers stands on Wakefield Street and is across from Walnut Hill Elementary School.
Petersburg police and the National Parks Service are working together to investigate the damage.

No, there isn’t. A condition of probation should be to clean every monument at that location and 30-40 nights of guard duty protecting them from other idiots.
