Just before the new semester kicked off at Old Dominion University, some un-"welcome" signs have resulted in a fraternity's suspension.
Parents bringing their freshmen students to move-in at the Norfolk, Virginia, campus and community last week might have glimpsed these banners hanging from the balcony of a private home.
"Rowdy and Fun. Hope your baby girl is ready for a good time," read one of the signs, which was spray-painted on a sheet. "Freshman daughter drop off," and "Go ahead and drop off mom too," were messages displayed on two other sheets, CNN affiliate WTKR reported.
Members of the Sigma Nu fraternity live at the house, and now the national Sigma Nu organization has suspended the group while it investigates the incident.

The amount of rapes taking place on college campuses is out of control. Who do you think are the ones doing it? Pukes like these “boys will be boys.”
I despise that comment. As if all boys are perverts. My husband and I chose to raise men, not “boys” and punks.
I’m shocked to still find heterosexuality on campus. I figured everyone was gay or transitioning.
Every campus that has frats seems to have some well behaved frats, and some that earn every iota of contempt they receive. Like it or not, the contemptible Greek lettered toads color folks’ impression of the entire Greek letter culture. My impression, from three different universities in three states, is that in general Greek letter organizations contribute to the coarsening of campus life.
These banners create the impression that humans, in their late teens and early twenties, might have some interest in sex and joking about it. Whoever heard of such a thing?
Astounding! So very different from my own experience.
Of course, my experience was in the late fifties-early sixties -- a different time.
Sigma Zoo, as they were known before they were suspended at Colgate in 1969, survives, I see.
Some things never change.
Very different. My experience spans the late 1970s to the late 1990s.
Point taken. They are stupid kids. I was a stupid kid. More than likely you were too.
All I am saying is it isn’t a big deal, and it is pretty funny, especially the moms line.
I think it’s hilarious - especially since this kind of thing is promoted at schools.
Those cougars would eat the frat boys alive. They’d be lucky to escape alive.
Your pic #38 - - when I was in college, I didn’t do any cooking. Even after I moved out of the dorms and into apartments for my last two years, I always went to the college cafeteria. Btw, why this particular photo in your #38. Is that guy someone you know or knew? Why is he holding that up? And is he is going to prepare a salad and main course for the lady in that pic, or is he simply one of those vegetarian folks?
“Well you can do whatever you want to us, but we’re not going to sit here and listen to you, badmouth the United States of America.”
That was the "Food King."
It’s a scene from Animal House.
Well said.
I saw Animal House. I think it was back in 1978 or 1979. Funny movie with John Belushi. This Sigma Nu house in the pic here is probably going to have similar activities going on that were going on in Animal House. As far as the signs hanging down I think they are just trying to be witty. (better then the guys out stealing cars or doing drugs) However, I’ll bet they won’t be putting in a lot of studying time this semester based on what we see here.
Oh I’m aware, but thanks for the link.
You’re assuming boys this mentally challenged aren’t doing drugs? Ok. I’m sure they’re brainiacs as well and will graduate and not blow their parents money. /S
