Strange bedfellows: Donald Trump and the white working class
Reuters ^ | August 23, 2015 | Justin Gest

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump clearly prides himself in shunning focus-group research. He refuses big campaign donations that he asserts make his opponents beholden to special interests. He seems to target no specific constituency.

Many pollsters remain puzzled by Trump’s political appeal. “Republican support for Donald Trump just continues to grow,” said Patrick Murray, director of Monmouth Polling after its August survey, “with no clear sense of who his constituency really is.”

Yet a constituency is emerging. Trump’s strongest supporters, roughly a quarter of Republican voters across the polls, are not dissuaded by any increased media scrutiny of their candidate. They have overlooked a series of faux pas that might have tanked other candidates.

It appears, however, to be a constituency with whom he has barely interacted: white working-class voters. Their lives are far from the flight path of Trump’s private jet, as he zooms from golf course to grand hotel lobby, television sound stage to penthouse suite...

The white working class has lived under a “president” for seven years that acted as though they don’t even exist; he has ruled as though the country is composed solely of blacks, Muslims, and sexual deviants.

“They're scraping the bottom of the barrel already? “

They're desperate, and they'll keep throwing things against the wall hoping for something, anything, to stick. They don't understand what is happening, because it doesn't fit into their narrow and inaccurate vision of what the world is or should be. IMHO they also likely sense that the worm has turned somewhat. That they can't control this is likely very scary to them.

The premise of the article is a joke. Hillary, Bill, Pelosi, and a ton of democrat politicians fly around on private jets and are markedly more wealthy than the average American. John Kerry, with his Yacht parked in Rhode Island to avoid paying Massachusetts taxes is another example that comes to mind. The rich white guy narrative that they used against Romney last time just isn't going to work this time.

Like Rove said on FOX, “I don’t know anyone who likes Trump!”

Pray America is waking

It is a GOOD thing that ordinary people are starting to distrust the media. Maybe it’s a sign.....

By donating millions of dollars to candidates of both parties over the years and observing the results, Trump has a unique perspective on the corruption of the political class. By financing his own campaign Trump can continue to speak directly to the voter and call a spade a spade.

“Shunning Focus Groups”??? Right thing to do NOT let them manipulate the outcome!!!

In last couple elections, when have focus groups ever been correct on target??? Kind like weathermen!!!

Wow!

I had not seen that. She is just right!! Poor woman is righteously upset.

The msm is an accomplice. Sharpton, Obama, Jesse, Holder, all accomplices.

And to who did the people want released: not Jesus, but the murderer.
