Donald Trump Won’t Eat Oreos Ever Again Since Nabisco is Moving to Mexico

Presidential candidate Donald Trump hosted an event last night in Alabama that saw between 18,000 and 20,000-plus people in attendance.

Roll tide, apparently.

During his speech, “the Donald” mentioned how he is a big fan of Oreo cookies, but will refuse to ever eat them again since Nabisco plans on moving to Mexico.

From The Blaze:

“You know, Mexico is the new China,” Trump told the crowd, referencing the recent decision by Nabisco to move its factories there.

“I love Oreos. I’ll never eat them again. Okay? I’ll never eat them again,” Trump said. “No, Nabisco closes the plant, they just announced a couple of days ago, in Chicago and they are moving the plant to Mexico. Now, why?”

“I don’t blame China. I respect them,” Trump said. “I’m not angry at them. I’m angry at our leaders for being so stupid. I’m not angry at China.”

Oreos — more specifically, Nabisco — caused the ire of the billionaire presidential contender after the company announced its decision not to invest the $130 million for a factory upgrade and will move production across the county’s southern border into Mexico. Nabisco also recently shut down its Philadelphia factory in an effort to expand factories in Virginia and New Jersey, although union members believe their jobs will eventually be outsourced to Mexico as well.

You know things are bad when American workers fear losing their jobs to outsourcing in order for the company to employ cheap laborers.

He’s not wrong about China. What the communist nation is doing is capitalizing on the weakness of current American leaders. They’re taking advantage of a flaw in our highly liberal system that disincentivizes making money.

What would be great about a Trump presidency is that he will not kowtow to any foreign land, and will always put the American people first. There won’t be an Obama-like Middle East apology tour under Trump, that’s for certain.

Go Trump.

The elite are trying to outsource an entire nation.

Folks, we’ve been stabbed in the back.

They hate Trump, and they hate the middle class!

I like that. It’s exactly what I do when I learn of BS from a company. A lot of people silently protest Starbucks, Target etc. People love to hear about Trump doing this. They can relate since it’s something they too can do.

Good for him. I’m glad that he mentioned it, too. I don’t eat oreos, but millions of people do, and they deserve to know where their food is coming from.

It is these same manufacturers who gave big donations to Obama so he would be reelected. His two terms in office guaranteed more cost causing regulations that force these same manufactures to outsource their productions.

Would Oreo come back if Trump solved the sugar tariff issues?

The US has the highest corporate tax in the west.
As a business guy how can Trump blame a business when its govt policies pushing them to make decisions like this.

What’s Trump’s solution? Another tax on the corporation??? Or lower corporate taxes???

Don't eat Oreos, but I stopped buying Hershey's products when they moved a plant to Mexico.

This article contains a lot of information about US firms moving plants to cheap labor nations.

That title (most outsourced industry), the report says, goes to furniture. Where workers in the Carolinas used to make our tables and chairs, by 2007 93.5 percent of furniture came from overseas, says the U.S. Business and Industrial Council, four times as much as a decade before.

That damn corporate tax.

That damned cheap labor. Corporate income tax will still be due on any profits from Oreos exported from Mexico and sold in the US.

If they don’t want to make it in America, then they want to pay a tariff on it.

My taxes are too high, too, but I don’t burn down my neighbor’s house and then collect US social security in my new Mexico home.

Which is a good thing to remember. I’d bet dollars to donuts that many of these companies getting corporate welfare are STILL complaining about taxes. I’ll bet those forcing obamacare on this nation to get out from under health costs are still leaving. I’ll bet those siding with democrat union rules are still leaving.

Outsourcing is not the issue with Nabisco. The USA has a Tariif on imported sugar. They also sharply limit imports basically making it twice as expensive to purchase sugar in this country.

Number one candy and Oreo ingredient is sugar

Blame Congress.

Business are in business to make money.

Every smart candy company has moved to Mexico or Canada.

Kraft moved the Lifesaver plant to Canada in 2002. Brach's moved to Mexico, Hershey's manufactures there too.

"The elite are trying to outsource an entire nation."

The unions have played a big role in the drive to destroy manufacturing in the US. Plenty of blame to go around.
