Initial tests on mortar fragments from an Aug. 11 Islamic State attack against Kurdish forces in Iraq have tested positive for the chemical weapon mustard gas, the Pentagon said Friday.
A few days after the attack near Makhmour, the Kurdish Peshmerga forces brought fragments from the mortar rounds to U.S. forces. Makhmour is just south of Irbil, where the U.S. has one of its training center sites.
“We were able to take the fragments and do a field test on those fragments, and they showed the presence of HD, or what is known as sulfur mustard. That is a class one chemical agent,” said Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Kevin J. Killea, chief of staff, Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve.

During WWII the USN had at least one shipful of mustard gas as part of the invasion for mainland Italy. It was intended for use against the Germans, should they have used gas first.
Since ISIS has chosen to deploy chemical weapons — retaliation with same is called for today.

When the Germans attacked Bari, also known as “Little Pearl Harbor”, one of the ships they bombed carried mustard gas, and it killed a lot of allied troops.
That attack was kept secret for decades.
Nasty stuff, burns you from the inside out.
That’s the one I’m thinking of. If it were not for that air raid, I doubt if anyone searching the internet today could find evidence that the US had mustard gas in theater.
The mustard gas that wasn’t on the mortar shells wasn’t from the stockpile that wasn’t in Syria that wasn’t shipped there from Iraq because Saddam didn’t have WMDs.
Because the DNC, the MSM and every idjit in Hollyweird said so.
