NEW LONDON, N.H. Jeb Bush invoked the names of two rivals for the Republican presidential nomination as he waded into the debate over birthright citizenship and immigration on Thursday, saying that Senators Ted Cruz of Texas and Marco Rubio of Florida might not be able to run for president if some in the conservative wing of the Republican Party had their way.
In response to a question at a restaurant here Thursday about the 14th Amendment, which allows children born in the United States to become citizens regardless of the legal status of their parents, Mr. Bush said, The courts have ruled that its part of the 14th Amendment of our Constitution, and my belief is that it ought to stay that way, that this is part of our noble heritage.
Then Mr. Bush mentioned both Mr. Rubio, whose parents immigrated to the United States from Cuba, and Mr. Cruz, who was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban-born father, to buttress his point.
Now, if people are here legally, they have a visa, and they have a child whos born here, I think that they ought to be American citizens, he said. People like Marco Rubio, by the way, thats how he came. You know, so to suggest that we make it impossible for a talented person like that not to be a candidate for president or Ted Cruz. I mean, I think were getting a little overboard here, and were listening to the emotion rather than to the reality of this.
Mr. Bush appeared to be conflating criticism of Mr. Rubio, who has said he is open to ending birthright citizenship for children born in the United States to foreign parents, with early questions about whether Mr. Cruz was qualified to run....

FUJB!! Amnesty pimps need not apply!!
I just hate these traitors : )
Well, the court royals ruled that LEGAL immigrant children are citizens. I think that should not have been the ruling, and it was 5 to 4. Still, that says nothing of illegal immigration. They have an allegiance to another country.
Jeb comes out with something stupider than the day before.
He has a point with Rubio, because his parents missed the window for refugee status and didn’t apply for citizenship until after Marco was born, but he’s wrong about Cruz. Cruz would still be a citizen even if birthright citizenship had not been in effect when he was born.
American mother. Period.
I thought he was the “smart” brother?
Jeb Bush is valiantly defending an argument nobody attacked.
If they’re here legally as permanent residents nobody has a problem with giving them citizenship. Cruz was born to an American mother.
I will never ever vote for Jeb. Ever.
He really does.....he and Hillary keep bottoming out daily.
Inevitables? HAH.
he is open to ending birthright citizenship for children born in the United States to foreign parents

Trust Jebbie to not separate foreign from illegal aliens..
Immigrants are foreign but theyre not illegal aliens..
the parents of Cruz, Rubio, Jindal were foreign but they were not illegal aliens..
This s about illegal aliens but Jebbie is trying to pretend its not..to confuse the issue..
I’m beginning to question Señor Jeb’s IQ and his reasoning ability. He’s conflating different things and is apparently too stupid to realize he’s doing that.
legal residents and citizens are ok.
it is the illegal aliens in the USA. The media is dissembling.
the media is merely reporting what the dissembling jebbie is saying..
Jebbie dissembles fine own his own..
he doesn’t need the media’s help..
>>>> ..... that this is part of our noble heritage.
The Constitution is very clear, court ruling not withstanding.
Siding along with sabotaging and betraying your own citizens is not a “noble heritage”.
Sorry, Jeb! You are wrong and there’s nothing ‘compassionate’ about it.
It’s not noble to allow non-citizens to ruin your country.
Jeb has no clue .. he is tainted by his Hispanic wife.
Jebster, you are not worth the pixels to refute, idiot.
Thanks.
Jebster is SO stupid.
I cant stand these open borders traitors. Not one EU country has anchor babies not one. Folks we are being invaded, period.
Special Jeb.
