Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Tuesday that birthright citizenship is a "constitutional right," casting doubt on fellow 2016 candidate Donald Trump's plan to do away with it.
"That's a constitutional right," Bush told CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett during an interview in South Carolina, where he is campaigning. "Mr. Trump can say he's for this because people are frustrated that it's abused. We ought to fix the problem rather than take away rights that are constitutionally endowed."
Speaking to reporters later, he added, "I don't support revoking it."

“Did the 14th say all are or was it about people related to slaves?”
Like the Second Amendment, it’s been subjected to “interpretation” by marxist morons in black robes.
To: jimbo123
No problem. deport Jeb Bush to Central or South America along with all the illegal aliens here. That will take years.
To: jimbo123
We will "FIX" THE PROBLEM.
It requires ANOTHER CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT REMOVING "ANCHOR-BABY CITIZENSHIP" .

And the subject to the jurisdiction thereof clause is the means to winnow them out. They want to ignore that clause, but they love to cite the "well regulated militia" wording in the 2nd Amendment when seeking to control firearm ownership.
Hypocrites.

The 14th amendment was intended to give former slaves their citizenship, not to give the children of invading barbarians citizenship. Thank you for bringing this up. Absolutely correct.

many of the people saying this is a constitutional right and we can't get rid of it see nothing wrong with getting rid of the rights to freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and owning a gun.
To: jimbo123
ATTENTION GOPe: ALL of your primary “main stream” candidates are self-destructing. Time to find someone else for your favored candidate. Or perhaps do something unthinkable for you... support a true conservative such as Ted Cruz.

When your parents are citizens, you bet.
This such bs, he knows hardly no other country views foreigners kids as their own cause they pop out on their land.

Actually, I believe we would only need a law specifying that illegal aliens and birth tourists are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.

The easiest argument against re-interpreting the constitution is that if its good enough for the right to change the citizenship amendment the left will be empowered to change the second.
The constitution is pretty clear.
I think the best solution is to give the babies free passports that expire when they are 21. Right before we send them packing with their parents.

The 14th doesn’t say that. Jeb is just too stupid to know that.

He keeps digging his hole deeper and deeper. The 14th. Amendment had nothing to do with illegals delivering by birth their kids here.
