Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body. I will be rearranging my schedule as necessary so I can undergo treatment by physicians at Emory Healthcare. A more complete public statement will be made when facts are known, possibly next week.

What a beautiful remembrance. Usually, when I think of President Reagan, I immediately think of my Dad. My Dad absolutely adored President Reagan and one of the great events of his life was to meet and take a picture with him. Those were different times, in a very different world. I miss them both.
My only comment — I’m sure Hittlery would love another Wellstone-moment about now. A big state funeral for a former RAT president would take the heat off of her for a while and maybe garner some sympathy for the RAT party.
Sad to see all this.
Amen. Prayers for the man from Plains.
His campaign/Presidency was the first I paid attention to—I even “defended” his term as a high school student. I created a slide show presentation highlighting what I thought were his successes.
Then, years later, I matured.
Despite his dismal, dismal Presidency I believe Jimmy Carter loved the United States.
I really cannot say that about the current occupant of the Oval Office.
Carter was foolish in his policy choices for the nation. The current occupant is actively working for destruction thereof.
And, as an ex-President, has 100-carat Gold, 24-hour on-demand medical care, something his political party would deny to any average plebe.
The guy was a nuclear power guy. He was one of the smartest Presidents. Intelligent does not always translate well into politics.
I agree. Prayers.
to me, its a sin to try a lot of chemo or radiation, except if its only for pain control....
can we all just die when we're supposed too?....
There is NO recovery....come on folks....
As my momma said....
I too have no comment.
I voted for him first time around....believed in him....we share a similar name...I think I voted for him the second time around too....luckily, Reagan won...
My prayers for Former President Jimmy Carter.
I know sooo many people that have lost their lives in their 40's or 50' and nobody gave them a thread to pay tribute....
point is, he's an old man....if cancer didn't get him, he'd die by a fall or a stroke....
I won't be a hypocrite and say I'm sorry he's dying...
think of people that really added greatness to this world like Pavarotti...for him, I cry...others, not so much....
Our niece has that. She is 30.Trying new treatments right now.

I personally believe cancer’s been around for eons...they just didn’t recognize it....the cancer got to a major organ and so that organ failed and was listed as the cause of death...when in fact cancer had gone undetected.
Carter’s body is old and wearing out like we all do....they’ll come a time where they won’t treat people that age other than economically feasible for their age.
That’s true.
Don’t ever expect Jimma to take credit for that though.
Leftists don’t take responsibility.
I agree with your sentiments.
May his pain be minimal.
