The changes, which emphasize fitness and character building while thinning the skills to those most relevant to a non-war-going force, were formulated at Fort Eustis' Center for Initial Military Training.

So why have an Army at all?
Remove women from actual combat since most all are raped.
Teach them the best way to kill and break things and be done with it.
How to be sure they don’t hurt the feelings of the enemy, through the US Army’s privilege and micro-aggressions?

Uh, what? Sounds like more diversity training and less weapons training to me. If this crap doesn’t get turned around, we are doomed. PC rules of engagement will get us killed. Literally. But as long as nobody is offended. I you aren’t in it to win it, stay home.
Let me guess.
Mandatory gay sex will be in the curriculum.
Best thing they could do for the military is eliminate the possibility that your Commanding Officer is not allowed to show up one day as a man and the next day as a Side Show Freak calling himself a women.
"..."I remember when I went through basic training, it was 'Do this, do that,' " he said during a recent trip to Fort Eustis. "Where today, it's more of a mentorship program to educate the soldier on why they need to know this." Hamilton, the training specialist, said they encourage soldiers to ask a lot of questions..."
It isn't that I think soldiers don't need to know why they do things a certain way, I simply think there are a lot of things that are and should be necessarily taught to a recruit: "Do it this way and no other."
I don't know if you want to get people who were recently civilians into a mindset of being able to analyze and question everything. In a veteran, someone who has experience...yes. In a recruit...I don't know. You need them to follow orders, not be comfortable with the underlying logic.
This seems wrong, but maybe I have it wrong. How do other Freepers feel about this?
Guess we’re gonna whistle Dixie and scare ISIS to death with our political incorrectness.
You need them to follow orders, not be comfortable with the underlying logic.
Damn straight. In combat, there’s no time to explain the concepts. That’s what things like Command and Staff colleges and War Colleges are for.
Boot camp is supposed to be where you cease to be an individual and begin to become a member of a team dedicated to killing people and breaking things.
Period.
Hard to march 10 miles in heels.
I thought “Dixie” was made illegal same time as the flag. Guess the “D***e Chicks” will have to change their names now. :>}
In that this country has not won a war since WWII, the burden of proof is on these “Army leaders”.
I say this is homo and transsexual BS.
WHAAAT? “Most relevant to a non-war-going force.” Sounds sort of like Cotillion.
as a country, we will be taken over...we have nothing to fight with anymore...not a sound military, not a sound govt, not a sound economy....
legal Americans have grown literally and figuratively fat and lazy and the ones invading us don't even speak the language..
Pansy Army leaders: Changes to basic training will produce better agents for Enabling the Destruction of the US
Except that enlisted men don't go through those schools. Keep in mind that enlisted men are basically skilled tradesmen. Officers are professionals. The enlisted know how to do things, and should be good at them. Officers are expected to know what things should be done, and trust the enlisted to do them right. Being able to do something right often includes understanding why it must be done in a particular way. The reasons have to be learned in training. Combat is too late to learn them.
