Donald Trump continued to defy the laws of political gravity on Monday as a Reuters/Ipsos poll found the real estate mogul holding onto a wide lead among Republicans in the U.S. presidential race despite an acerbic debate and a feud with a female television anchor that have bolstered charges of sexism.
Trump led the party's 17-strong 2016 presidential field with the backing of 24 percent of Republican voters, unchanged from before Thursday's televised debate.
His closest rival, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, trails at 12 percent, down from 17 percent before the debate.

Increasing your lead by 5 points over the guy in second is a pretty good result.. for someone Frank “I just jumped the shark” Luntz claimed to have completely fallen apart in a debate which was unlike anything Luntz has ever seen before..

Jeb tipped the establishment's hand when he said:
"You've got to be willing to lose the primary to win the general."
That statement makes absolutely no sense, unless you realize that the GOP-e cabal always intended to steal the electoral process from the people.

We have seen the NBC poll, this one, and a tracking poll by a group called ‘Morning Consult’ that I have never heard of.
This one I call shaky because of the small sample, large margin, and methodology. The NBC one is better. The Morning Consult one I don’t know about.
All show Trump either steady or gaining. That looks like the trend, and more polls will probably support that. But we only know the Trump and Bush numbers from this poll, so I can’t tell beyond that.
The NBC poll showed Cruz with a 7 point jump, the Morning Consult poll showed Cruz with a 4 point drop.
We don’t know what this poll showed for Cruz.
So again, I really would like to see a few more polls.
And Trump’s in-party negatives got even higher!
He has no path to the Presidency; he can only spoil the side he now claims to support.
If he takes down the GOPe with him, I say, Good!

He had 5 pts to lose? I would have thought that would put him into negative numbers.

Don't forget the Drudge and Time internet polls that were run right after the debate. They may have been 'unscientific', but the results showed a strong trend that has been backed up by later polling.
There are all sorts of other metrics one can examine, as well, if your intent is to gain some insight as to voter preferences.
But, I take your original point. More polls is a good thing.
Bush = dead fish
Rubio = squish
Trump = delish
Cruz = we wish
Perfect!
I’ll vote for Trump if he runs third party and hope to convince the nose-holders to let go of their noses and not vote to become North Mexico.
