Donald Trump's lead over his Republican presidential rivals grew substantially in the days following the first GOP debate and his controversial comments about moderator Megyn Kelly.
Trumps support increased by 7 points, to 32 percent, according to the latest Morning Consult tracking poll.

But Frank Luntz said he witnessed Trump’s collapse on Thursday! His focus group had him down 80 percent! Are you telling me his gaggle of RNC Party folks don’t represent regular conservatives?
This never ceases to amaze me.
Stunning.
The establishment is reeling.
Plus the other winner, Fiorina; also from the business background.
I think there is a message being heard, loudly.
62% favorabiling rating!!!!!!
Most favorable GOP Candidate!!!!!!!
Now let’s get back to the issues and watch him reach 50% voting for before the first primary and an 80% favorability rating.
Was that polster and frequent FoxNews contributor Frank Luntz in the background says, “... but I have already dug his grave!!!!”?
Kicking the media in the head appears to be a winning strategy.
I think the gopE had best start working with Trump if they can. It doesn’t look like he’s going away anytime soon and as long as he’s there he’s exposing the fraud that is the gop. They can NOT allow that to happen!
I’d laugh if it came out that Bush had called Kelly and begged her to apologize to Trump. “I will if you, Megyn. Help me!
A radio guy said last Friday, what struck home for Kelly was the tone; when she answered to Trump on the Rosie O’Donnell quip with; “it’s much more than that”.
She was prosecuting, which works when discussing illegal activities, but not in politics or politically correct speech.
She is paying dearly for this.
She needs to stop approaching political lines of questioning as prosecutions.
No surprise at all.
Looking back at the political landscape and events the past 30 years, how could Trump not be ahead? Trump losing would be the big surprise from my perspective.
Uh, but, Trump, is, uh, finished, I think.

I think the citizens are sending a very loud message here and yet the tone-deaf establishment don't want to hear it and they continue to try the old "gotcha" methods to destroy candidates they would like to disqualify from the running.
If these post-debate polls are true, and I have no reason to believe they are not, based on Twitter trends I will post below, than the effort to run Trump out of the race has backfired badly.
Now most of us Freepers know that the best conservative in this race is probably Ted Cruz. And there are flame-wars going on right now between the pro-Cruz and pro-Trump camps.
Hate to see that. Everybody should calm down. The primaries are still nearly half a year away. A lot can happen between now and then so no need to make enemies of each other just yet.
I think no matter how things turn out this cycle, Ted Cruz is going to go nowhere but up and will be part of our movement for years to come. But right now, it's time to break some eggs and you know that you need to break eggs to make an omelet. Or something like that.
Anyway, behold the Twitter numbers as they stand yesterday. I did update Trump's numbers for today as he's going absolutely gangbusters - he's been gaining 30,000 followers a day since Saturday.

Never going to happen.
Gotta back a conservative
Why would she ask that? It’s a format that has limitd time to discuss issues.
“Now most of us Freepers know that the best conservative in this race is probably Ted Cruz. And there are flame-wars going on right now between the pro-Cruz and pro-Trump camps.”
That’s why I’d like to see a Cruz/Trump or Trump/Cruz ticket with Palin, Carson, et al added to cabinet positions.
Carson is another guy I want to see more of. I would hope that Carson plays some role in a future administration at the least.
It’s time we get people in there who aren’t politicians by trade.
Jim Gilmore has 851 followers??? Maybe they thought he was the guy from Pink Floyd.
In other words, Kelly goes down on Trump.
