If Donald Trump's comments about Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly are hurting his standing in the Republican primary, it's not showing in the numbers. According to the latest NBC News Online Poll conducted by SurveyMonkey, Trump is at the top of the list of GOP candidates that Republican primary voters would cast a ballot for if the primary were being held right now.

Fox folds...Trump Trumps.
if the thinking on FR is any indication (and I am sure that it is) then trump’s numbers are wildly inflated. there are large numbers of people on this site, which I am confident is a fairly representative sampling of conservative opinion nationwide, that are voicing support for trump because he’s shaking up the party leadership, but have no intention of actually voting for the guy.
Vocal minority, that’s all.
That has been me for some time. I'm a Cruz supporter. But the further we get into this, I think I can see myself supporting a Trump/Cruz ticket in 2016, and a Cruz/Carson ticket in 2024.
You are vastly overestimating the intelligence of people.
Go ahead, diss Trump supporters. You’re not going to convince me to vote for any of the other 16 Republican candidates by unfriendly talk like that.
They certain are making every effort to turn off people to whomever they are supporting, that’s for sure.
Frankly their arrogance, while supposedly being the guardians of American tradition, which includes the right of constitutionally qualified citizens to run fair and square, is the hight of un-American behavior.
I just chuckle at my own self ... don’t like him one bit but I am supporting him and loving him “sticking it to the man”.
My head may explode.
The people at freerepublic are new junkies and are not indicative of the voting population. Perot's popularity is real or it was this weekend at a social event I attended. People are loving that someone is taking it to the media and establishment and not backing down. Most do not think this will last and are looking at another Republican as the real candidate but they are behind Trump 100% today giving everyone hell.
Primaries weed people out. It is not a bad thing Trump is at the top today, their next target to take out is Cruz then Walker. The media and the GOP will do everything in their power to leave us with only a rino as a choice. Trump was just their first target, which has backfired on them so far.
“voicing support for trump because hes shaking up the party leadership, but have no intention of actually voting for the guy.”
Let me modify that slightly. We’d rather vote for Cruz, would never vote for Bush, but if Trump took the nomination I’d be happy to pull the Trump lever because at least he believes in American Exceptionalism.
Well said. I’m betting Trump is in to shake up the race and open up the conversation, and a few months from now he will pull out and put his support behind Cruz or Walker.
Agreed it’s a vocal minority.
I fully intend to vote for Trump. Because he is the only one that understands the economy and the role of trade policy in de-industrializing American and causing high unemployment. He will indeed be the jobs president.
And he’s plenty conservative.
Wishful thinking on your part my politically challenged friend. :-)
I agree. I also think Trump polling well after the "debate" was simply a protest against the way the tabloid media moderators conducted themselves.
Trump was the winner last Thursday, not because he made an impressive, compelling case for his candidacy, which he didn't, but because Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace were asses.
Donald should have added “No More Clintons!”
At least eight of people pictured there need to go home. I like Jindal, but he has no chance.
I’ll be the first to admit, if Trump takes down the GOPe with him, then it’s a “Win-Win.”
