The survey, conducted Friday and Saturday, finds Donald Trump holding his lead with 23 percent support among Republican primary voters. This is consistent with a Gravis Marketing poll taken after the debate, where 19 percent of Republicans said Trump won the debate.
The Gravis poll found that more Republicans, 22 percent, felt Ben Carson, retired neurosurgeon and political rookie, won the debate. In the NBC poll, Carson surged into third place in the nomination contest, earning 11 percent support.
Texas Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was the second choice in the NBC Poll, receiving support from 13 percent of Republican voters. Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina was fourth, with 11 percent, following her widely recognized domination of the undercard debate earlier Thursday evening.
The exact breakdown and percentage of the first seven spots in the NBC poll are: Trump (23), Cruz (13), Carson (11), Fiorina (8), Rubio (8), Bush (7) and Walker (7).
In other words, the highest poll ranking of a candidate acceptable to the Republicans in D.C. is Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), in fifth place with just 8 percent. This is stunning considering the obvious attacks on Trump by Fox moderators, ...
In the post-debate analysis, Fox News roundly criticized Trump and heaped praise on Rubio and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a former Fox News anchor.
Obviously the NBC News poll is the first of many post-debate polls and the nomination contest is still in its very early days. Trump created a silly controversy for himself with an attack on Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly over the weekend, which isnt factored into this polls results.
...
On Saturday, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who is inexplicably also running for President, said Donald Trump was inflicting permanent damage on the GOP. He wants him booted

It looks like My GYN failed and Beyer too. Look folfs , we all know that trump is not perfect but we have been through hell with the communist in the White House. It is time to kick some ass. Do you actually think bush COULD kick ass? Cruz could YESS but Trump owns a 100 million dollar air plane. I am beginning to fear for his safety . The GOP-E has tried everything to get back in and it has all failed. I will vote to CLOSE THE DAMNED MEXICAN BORDER. GO TRUMP!!
PS quit watching FOX !!
Get over your hots for the hooker.
CAN YOU SAY BULLSH*T?
And I’m not even a Trump fan.
CRUZ OR LOSE.
Or GRAND OLD PARTY ELITES.
She was just doing what she was told?
Is that any thing like “I WAS JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS”?
Yes and that’s true for all three of the moderators. Fox let the curtain drop and people were able to see how their operation works. The orders come from the top.
You sir; are an idiot.
My father always told me; “NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT, THEY WILL JUST DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE”.
Very sage advice from a very wise man.
I think that and and one other alternate that was mentioned made more sense than mine. Good call. Check out the responses to my post, and you should see it mentioned.
I’m an idiot?
“But after hearing her, they went after each candidate hitting on their weakness so that they could get used to it”
Get used to it? If your own side attacks you, you dneed enemies.

Technically, Cruz won the debate. He gained more points from the previous polling than anyone else. Fiorina gained almost as much, and Carson was the 3rd biggest gainer. Trump and Huckabee only gained one point. No one else gained any.
Trump's negatives are keeping him down. 29% thought he was the worst one in the debate, way more than anyone else.
Looks like Cruz control is in motion! It looks like Trump will have trouble gaining ground from where he is now due to his high negatives. Which means as more candidates drop out, Cruz seems best positioned to pick up support. It's too early to say whether Fiorina will gain steam since she's the most unknown quantity in the "new" top tier. Also, this poll shows she would bump Chris Christie out of the next debate.
When you imagine candidates dropping out and the vote consolidating, it’s hard to see where Bush could pick up votes. There aren’t a lot of moderates in the race that have any numbers at all. Not counting Fiorina as a moderate, it looks like if all the other moderate votes went to Bush, he’d just be tied for 2nd with Cruz.
Whether or not any of the candidates will run third party is one of the most substantive questions that could be asked. That could have a real effect on whether people do or do not vote for him.
Asking about a family member did is probably not irrelevant. Asking about what you did is a different story. Personal issues matter. That’s why Slick Willy was asked whether he inhaled or not.
We don’t often have a loudmouth candidate known for lobbing insults at people in the race. We’ve never had to think about whether that’s relevant or not, but I’d say it is. That may turn off voters in the general election. Bush was also asked whether he called Trump an a-hole, so no special treatment was given.
Trump is running without having ever held elected office. So his personal business dealings and any problems up to and including bankruptcies are the most relevant topics we can look at to determine if he’s qualified to run the country.
Good thing you're not going to wait on an apology from me because it's never going to happen.
Your vanity post praising Megyn Kelly is one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen on this website.
I really doubt that. I’ve read some bizarre stuff here, worse than what I wrote.
I just don’t think there’s a conspiracy to undermine our candidates. I think the mods thought in their own misguided way they were helping.
I think Kelly is a class act, because obviously she is under a lot of fire, and she’s showing maturity and strength.
Trump and her should play the feud up a little then kiss and make up, and move on. It will play for good TV.
Obviously, Trump is playing this to the hilt. He’s acting just the opposite of what you’d expect a world leader to act, but on the other hand the people are liking it.
Please don't stop. Your obsession with her in spite of the links to her bawdy Howard Stern show performance and the GQ photoshoot provide comic relief for some of us. There's an Inspector Clouseau quality to it.
You ignore her classless jibe at Ted Cruz.
With all due respect, that a hallucinogenic conclusion. I have nothing further to say.

This thread brings back memories of Megan Fox obsessives.
Wait a tick. Megan Fox ... Megyn Kelly ... Fox News ... whoa!
LOL! You might be onto something.
