Donald Trump kicks over the money changer tables in the temple in Jerusalem.

Donald Trump kicks over the money changer tables in the temple in Jerusalem, and throws tea into Boston Harbor.

Revolutions. How times have we heard that revolutions have been carried out for less than what Washington has forced on us? The organization that is nominally on our side is just as corrupt.

Donald Trump is the revolution. He must go after the nearby corruption before tackling the state, just as Jesus the Jew attacked his priests before taking on Rome. Our founding fathers had to deal with colonial loyalists, while fighting the British.

Revolutions are messy, difficult to watch. The Weatherman of the 1960’s and 1970’s were vile and violent, then went dormant, then attained power in 2008. We don’t have that kind of time.

Today, we have the vile, without the violence. Our revolution is peaceful, but at times ugly and disconcerting; a small sacrifice for major change.

Trump knows this, and is not going anywhere.

The sanity was regained when they began to say yes, a lot of what Trump is saying made sense and they are glad that someone with moxie, even if it is a weird formula, is pressing it. That’s not “charity” — it is incredible proud condescension.

NONSENSE. Conservatives do not sway in the face of populism. Principled Conservatism looks at the record, not the election year speeches. What he says is nothing but kabuki theater. It's whether he can uphold all of the principles of Conservatism that matters. And that will be found in the record. CatherineofAragon is right on the money, as always, and it is shameful - Flat shameful - that an article is on FR comparing anyone, not to mention Trump, to Messiah.

Get a grip.

Shameful indeed.

“When you give, they do whatever the hell you want them to do.”

“You’d better believe it,” Trump said. “If I ask them, if I need them, you know, most of the people on this stage I’ve given to, just so you understand, a lot of money.”

A blind desire will be met with darkness. A blind man can’t tell the difference between dark and light.

That’s right, God is using Donald Trump to save America the way he spoke through Balaam’s ass to warn the wayward prophet.

Dear God. Snap out of it.

Donald has many strong points but turning over money- changers’ tables may be dead last on Mr, Ten Billion Dineros’ attributes list. Just saying.

"We can never make any kind of biblical allusion around here or we are demented bible thumpers! Clinging to our guns and religion!"

Exactly! Nowhere in Cicero's article did I see him claim that Trump is Jesus. The historical parallels that Cicero mentions are there. It's a shame that people on this post are wielding such vicious hyperbole against the author. Their hatred of Trump is twisting their perception.

I guess it was only a matter of time until someone compared Trump to Jesus Christ.

Comparing Trump to Jesus is probably a bit much, but if he's comparing the GOPe to Pharisees he has a point.

Maybe it's more like Masada and we're all going down so we might as well take a few Romans with us.

I’m afraid it’s impossible to reason people out of something that they didn’t reason themselves into in the first place.

It looks like we’re just going to have to ride this one out. I am sure that at some point, he will say something so utterly, fantastically, unbelievably outrageous that all but his most enamored disciples will desert him. I just hope that happens soon, before he does real damage.

that’s not a policy. it’s not even a bumper sticker.

I don't know about that. I could see a whole serious of bumper stickers beginning with "Trump means trouble ..."

Trump means trouble ... for ISIS.
Trump means trouble ... for illegal immigration.
Trump means trouble ... for out-of-control government.
Trump means trouble ... for Hillary Clinton.

-——Trump is tackling issues directly-——

He is ?

Show me one policy position he has taken on any issue...

He talks a lot about issues, but you need an actual policy to address it....

Charging Mexico for a fence isn’t a policy, it’s rhetoric....great idea, but how do you do it?

"Principled Conservatism"

I'm sorry, but you made me laugh with that phrase.

We should encourage Trump to continue bashing the establishment. If he succeeds to the White House, it can only get better from where we are. If he stumbles and falls along the way, so much the better for Cruz.

People can, and do change. Those that don't are either lazy, stupid, or stubborn, or a combination of the three.

I support Cruz, but I see Trump doing the work that ultimately paves the way for a guy like Cruz to prevail....Cruz can’t do it all alone.

Why not let Trump have a chance, he can’t be any worse than the other non-Cruz candidates.

Do you speak for or know the mind of God? If not, then I suggest you check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Right. Before it all implodes, though, Trump and the trumpets will all be so invested in each other the reality distortion field will pop like a mushroom cloud.

It’s got the feel of white-robed believers standing on a mountain waiting for a comet. Hovering at the mouth of a grotto listening for the oracle. Rowing toward the sirens.

I’m being snarky, but it just stuns me that people think this guy could win a majority in the electoral college. I despair that all the time and money people have spent on this board analyzing the American political process has flowed over them like ether.

Yes, I know that God is not speaking through Donald Trump. I know this, because God speaks in complete sentences.

People post "lol" almost reflexively on internet forums, but I literally laughed out loud when I read your reply.

No one said God was talking through Trump, you said that. You are being deliberately obtuse, as many on this thread are. Did you learn that behavior from your visits to DU?

They’re trying to destroy him and our Democratic enemies are having a laugh fest. Pastor at my church made an anti-Trump joke and it got a lot of laughs. No contributions to your ministry, Pastor M.

j’accuse!

I suppose this was inevitable. the deluded followers of an avowed, lifelong liberal are now accusing those that point out his convenient conversion to conservatism of heresy.
