Mark Levin said on his radio show today that hes not trashing Fox News or Megyn Kelly for last nights GOP debate, merely giving his take as someone very serious about whats going on in this country, but its clear he was pretty frustrated, even angry, with how the whole thing turned out.
It drove Levin crazy that at a forum that was supposed to be about issues important to salvaging Americas future, the first hour was a reality TV show because of Foxs ratings agenda.
He said there was a fundamental unseriousness and disrespectfulness to candidates who deserved better from the moderators, especially when it came to the question that really set him off: Kelly confronting Trump about nasty things hes said about women.
Levin said of her question, Im getting tired of these lies and these attacks on Trump. I dont like bullies.
He played audio of Rosie ODonnell mocking Trump and said there was crucial context to Trumps cherry-picked remarks left out of the question.
Mark nails it as usual.
Bingo! Any “smart” network should realize that ratings are all that counts (+ $).
Some like MSNBC allow ideology to blur their message and they are losing audience share (- $).
I vote for return(?) to objective, honest journalism, news separation from management as advocated by Sharyl Attkisson, and not worry about bottom line. Viewers will then find you.
Love that man! He said he hated having to discuss the issue (I doubt he’s voting for Trump!) but he then went on to tear it apart in a way that Rush didn’t do. Rush seemed tired or something yesterday.
Mark belongs somewhere in the next administration.
Ratings were only part of it.
They were doing the bidding of the RNC.
The primary goal was ratings but the secondary goal was to put Trump in his place and to shine the light on a more establishment candidate—Bush or Kasich preferably.
Look who got the most time. Trump (11+ minutes to hopefully hang himself), Bush (8+ minutes to reinvigorate his sagging candidacy). Everyone else got several minutes less than Bush.
It was an embarrassing joke.
I heard most of Mark’s show last night. He did say it’s not about defending Trump and said he wasn’t doing that. He was angry for the country and for the tabloid level discourse we’ve embraced.
Mark was very angry about Cruz being frozen out of the debate.
Time to dig up Megyn Kelly (Kendall) divorce records and return the favor.
As usual, Levin is spot on.
I was surprised to hear Chris Wallace mention last night that they had received blowback from the debate. You know if he is mentioning it, it is BAD.
I couldn’t resist, I checked what Mygyna was doing on her show (about ten seconds) and what was doing?...holding another Luntz type bench full of morons Q’s and A’s.
But there were a few too many "gotcha" questions to other candidates as well. Scott Walker, who really didn't get much talking time, was assailed because despite an outstanding record during his four years, his prediction of job growth wasn't reached. That question happens to be one of the regular Dem talking points here in Wisconsin. The unemployment rate has dropped, but "YOU DIDN'T CREATE AS MANY JOBS AS YOU SAID YOU WOULD!!!!! WHY NOT????? HUH....HUH????"
I thought Walker did a good job of keeping his cool and just said he'd rather be known for aiming high even if he didn't quite reach his goal.
A better question would have been:
Gov. Walker, are you satisfied with your economic agenda in Wisconsin despite not having reached your target of jobs created?
There were simply too many snarky questions to all candidates. There were some legitimate tough questions, and the candidates have to be prepared for them.
Exactly. As I said, I doubt he would support Trump but he knew (as I did!) that this was a lost opportunity when a bimbo suddenly decided the debate was about her and not the future of America. She’s a disgrace. My husband, who is basically apolitical, unfortunately, was shocked at her behavior and never wants to find her again on any channel.
Yep, I’ve never been a Kelly fan, and I never thought for a minute she was a conservative. Her love for gay marriage proved that.
I’m done with Fox for their deliberate avoidance of Cruz. I can get all my news here.
Absolutely. I’d be lost with FR.
I want Cruz, but how she treated him and others was a disgrace and she should be embarrassed by her attitude.
They way this so called debate was handled was a great disservice to the voters.
Kelly is not the only one to blame. All three moderstors behaved in a cheesy way.
These candidates had one minute to react and explain the attacks on them. Not enough time to provide context.
Next person up for FOX to annihilate is Ted Cruz. That started this morning. They have a big push on for Rubio, so they used a clip of Ted Cruz talking about how most on that stage were pushing amnesty. Cheap shot because Cruz was not also on to point out to Rubio that he was exactly FOR amnesty. No mention of the gang of 8 or his collusion with Chuck Schumer. Rubio sat and lied to Rush Limbaugh on his show about that Immigration bill not being amnesty. He also lied this morning. This tells me Rubio is not mature enough to be President. His ambition outweighs his proclaimed principles. Folks, FOX is not election headquarters. It has never been good at election coverage. They are merely a tool for the ruling class. FOX is circling the wagons to justify some pretty cheap behavior on the part of it's anchors. Those anchors are every bit as full of themselves as they accuse Trump of.
You don’t think the Trump team is doing that right now? They are no altar boys. Most of his advisers sound like Tony Soprano.
