Limbaugh Rips Fox, Megyn Kelly for Pushing ‘War on Women’ at Debate
Mediaite ^ | 8/7/15 | Josh Feldman

Rush Limbaugh wasn’t exactly happy about last night’s debate, and took a few shots at Fox News and Megyn Kelly for how it went down.

Donald Trump and at least one of Kelly’s own colleagues weren’t happy with her line of questioning last night, and Limbaugh pointed out today that Kelly and her co-moderators Bret Baier and Chris Wallace got far more airtime than any of the candidates.

He also brought up Kelly’s question “filled with snark about Jesus” directed at John Kasich.

But what astonished him the most was how the Fox moderators basically made it seem like there’s a Republican “war on women.” And while he didn’t single out any questions in particular, but last night Kelly confronted Trump about his sexist attacks on women and asked Scott Walker, “Would you really let a mother die rather than have an abortion?”

Well said. The giddy self-indulgence and snark was almost shocking.

The liberal lamestream media is going to be MERCILESS in trying to bring the Republican Candidate down. Bank on that.

Everybody knows that. Maybe what you don't get is that Fox wasted two hours and an audience of 24 million with gotcha questions rather than useful policy questions that would have benefited the record audience.

We and the candidates know what to expect from various MSM outfits. But most didn't expect the same gotcha questions and moderators with ego problems from Fox. Fox damaged its reputation significantly with many millions of potential viewers and viewers last night.

I now an ex-viewer for most of their programming.

I don’t watch her show and certainly won’t after that joke.

Ms. Kelly comes across as a complete, total, egotistical narcissitic bitch!!

I consider the news that almost all job gains since 2007 have gone to immigrant women, not citizens, a greater “war on women” than saying pay for your own *&>! abortion and contraception and you can’t do it when the kid could come out and get adopted.

“ANYONE on that stage that couldn’t handle the little bit of heat they got last night should drop out of the race today.”

Exactly. We’re talking about Megyn Kelly because Trump is talking about her. Her questions were opportunities for him and he blew it because he’s a crybaby.

There’s plenty of support for him but it’s not based on any particular policy proposal. The one good thing he’s done is talk about the border. He has no other ideas; he’s not talking small-government conservatism. As the field narrows his support will shrink to the point he’ll see he can’t get the nomination, then he’ll switch to a third party. If he stays in the race he’ll hand the election to Hillary Clinton.

But those who vote for him will FEEL better about “not throwing away” their votes.

It’s so tiring going through this same stupid logic election after election, like Groundhog day.

Maybe what you don't get is gotcha questions is all the Republican Candidate(s) will get from the liberal lamestream media!

In that regard, Fox did each of the candidates a favor last night by reminding them what they're up against.

I think each candidate handled the "gotcha" questions well, btw. Some a little better than others, but still, what you saw on Fox the other night is all you're going to see on the liberal lamestream media and the successful candidate(s) will find a way to get their message through.

Not that I like what happened on Fox either, but it's reality.

I don't have a horse in this race yet. I really don't, it's just waaaaaay too early for that, IMO.

Having said that, Trump wasn't a "crybaby." If anything, Trump showed the others what needed to be done to get their message over the top of the media's cheap-shot tactics.

Notice this morning's headlines on Drudge have a few talking about Republican Candidates racing to the right to out flank Trump.

Now why would that happen? Easy: They're finally picking up on how Trump's getting his message out and are going to start emulating him.

Personally, I think that's the greatest thing Trump's bringing to the race: a big set of ba**s which every other candidate is missing.

Maybe, just maybe the other candidates will find theirs now.

The only thing missing from that debacle was Jerry Springer. But then again maybe they didn’t need him, they did have Kelly. I wonder what her next program will be about, two headed zombies from Mars, or something just as made up.

I’d sure like to see GOP candidates with nads. But telling a woman she was unfair to you because she is on her period is not manly courage.

I’d like to see a candidate who talks direct, doesn’t simper to the press, and is a gentleman. They exist; see “Reagen, Ronald”.

We’re all sitting around arguing over whether a crude casino mogul with a history of liberal statements and donations is our champion to lead the free world and make America great. Sometimes I think the GOP base is as much a bunch of pied-piper groupies as the left base.

I’d just like to skip ahead a few months. Trump will not get an electoral college majority. Not this year, not ever. Any other result than an electoral college majority IS A WASTE OF ALL YOUR MONEY AND TIME conservatives.

Try to be less stupid.

He read my post yesterday morning about my wife standing up and yelling at Megyn as she was pulling this crap. My very quiet wife said she was ashamed of Kelly's pc crap, bringing it up while our country was going down the tubes.

Hey, I can fantasize about being on the cutting edge, yes?

:-)

Total BS. What really happened is Fox turned itself into MSNBC lite, and some of its on air personalities will look a lot more like Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow from now on.

And Fox wasted its biggest audience in history trying to damage the man who delivered that audience to them. And they failed to provide a program that was informative on the issues and useful to the viewing audience who wanted to learn more about the candidates stances on issues.

If Fox wanted to report that drivel that came out of Megyn's mouth in a few seconds, they should have made an investigative report of it with actual evidence and support for the accusations. As it was it was just a hit job that most viewers probably couldn't even follow, it happened so fast.

Now there is no place Republicans can expect a reasonably objective and fair debate forum. We need new conservative media outlets that will report news objectively.

I can’t stand to tune her in tonight.

Until now, I rather liked Ms. Kelly. I do not know if she was pushing the agenda for the Washington Cartel so much as she was making the "debate" all about her self-promotion. She threw a fast ball at Trump right below the belt. Just shows her lack of class and her petty narcissism. I will not be watching the Kelly File.

Is that your opinion that Trump went back after MK attacking her for being on her period, or did you read that somewhere? Personally, I didn't make that connection and I have to wonder about those who did.

I’d like to see a candidate who talks direct, doesn’t simper to the press, and is a gentleman. They exist; see “Reagen, Ronald”.

Agree 10,000%. Trump is no Reagan. Gee, can't wait to see how much I get flamed for that by the Trumpies.

We’re all sitting around arguing over whether a crude casino mogul with a history of liberal statements and donations is our champion to lead the free world and make America great. Sometimes I think the GOP base is as much a bunch of pied-piper groupies as the left base.

Again, agree 10,000%. As I've said probably several dozen times here on FR already, Trump isn't going to be the candidate. Not because of what someone else does, but because of what TRUMP does. There are a fair number of folks here on FR who've invested heart and soul into "The Donald" because he gives voice to the things that frankly, piss them off.

Honestly, Trump gives voice to things that piss me off too. Does that mean he's my or the best candidate? No. Does it mean I agree with the personal attacks on him by the media? No.

I want Trump in the race as long as possible if for no other reason than to drag the Republican Establishment kicking and screaming back across the RINO LIBERAL line and into the Right/Center Right zone. To that end, he's having an effect. Drudge had two headlines up this morning on this very thing. We now have the Republican Candidates finally starting to figure out why Trump appeals to the base and are looking to make course corrections in their campaign.

Granted, that doesn't mean there's a sincere Conservative running for President, save for perhaps Ted Cruz.

I have no horse in this race, at least yet. It's way too early for me and there's going to be a plethora of stupid things coming out of each candidates mouth before the Iowa Caucus'. IMO it's just not time to pay much attention yet.
