Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a 2016 GOP presidential candidate, is calling on mayors of sanctuary cities to be arrested as accomplices to the crimes illegal aliens receiving special treatment in their cities commit.
Absolutely, I would hold them as an accomplice, Jindal said on Boston Herald Radio on Monday morning, as reported by BuzzFeed, Jindal said of mayors of sanctuary cities. Make them criminally culpable. Id also make them civilly liable so that families, victims families could sue. Especially if the prosecutor isnt taking action or the mayors not changing their ways, Id allow the families to go to court as well to recover damages.
In late July, Jindal released a detailed planhis Partners In Crime Planto hold officials in sanctuary cities accountable for what they have done.
The plan calls first for Congress to criminalize sanctuary cities existing by making city officials that enact those policies as an accessory to the crimes committed by the illegal aliens those policies enabled.
Secondly, Jindals plan would have Congress give standing to victims and their families to civilly sue local, state, and federal officials for failing to enforce the Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA) or failing to bring criminal charges of accessory against public officials that enact these policies.

I’ll go him one better—Arrest the governors that allowed such lawlessness in their states.
Thank you for you effort on that Choldt.
That pretty much conforms to my perception of the problem. (or vise verse)
Accessory to murder (and other such crimes) is a state law. New Orleans is a sanctuary city. So, Bobby, when will we see some arrests?
Oh, right. Talk is cheap.
Don’t forget the tar and feathers!
Exactly. It would usually be the city council that voted their town to become a “sanctuary city”. The mayor might have one vote. Then not only the mayor but the police would have to decide what law to enforce.
Isn’t willingly and knowingly aiding and abbedding illegal acts ALREADY a Crime and in the case of a federal crime, itself a federal crime???
The only problem I have with this is one of Federalism - do we really want to set a precedent that state and local officials can be held criminally responsible for failing to enforce Federal law? It doesn’t take much to see how such a precedent could be abused.
Democrat mayors want their taxpayer subsidized voters.
Republican mayors want their taxpayer subsidized labor force.
The business owners, politicians, governments, shareholders, and finanacial interests want that free flow of cheap labor unimpeded, and will buy, imtimidate, extort, and do anything to make that happen.
Which is why we are where we are at now, a first-world nation rapidly devolving into a third-world fascist shithole.
But hey! Enjoy those record profits (right before the regime kills you, and takes them).
Yeeesss!!! People are FINALLY beginning to think correctly.
If I could, I certainly would. I have repeatedly posted on FR that I could fix things in a relatively short period of time. Raw force and a determination to do what is right would fix it. Those not wanting the fix would be allowed to head for the exits ASAP. If they returned, it would be over for them.
I’m hard nosed here too.
I don’t care if people can see the problem clearly or not, but ends! PERIOD!
‘do we really want to set a precedent that state and local officials can be held criminally responsible for failing to enforce Federal law?”
It’s already been settled by federal courts, including the USSC, that state and local governments cannot be drafted by the federal government to enforce federal laws. States and local governments are sovereigns.
Exactly, and with good reason. So, while sanctuary cities are a huge problem, they should (must) be dealt with by their own states, not by the Feds. So, if Jindal wants the mayors of sanctuary cities arrested, let him send out Louisiana state troopers to take care of it.
Obviously there are Federal policies that could help curb the issue (tying Fed law enforcement funds to projects that include immigration enforcement is one easy one), but the issue ultimately needs to be fixed at the state and local level.
Great.
Uh Bobby I really think cutting off their federal funding would be enough. LOL!
This isn't about state law and local law. The local laws are ignoring federal law.
There are three choices.
1. Change the federal law
2. Pretending the federal law doesn't exit.
3. Enforce the law.
Most of us on this web site would like to see the law enforced and those that have been pretending the law doesn't exist be thrown into jail.
After hours night-time beheadings too. These bastards are responsible for innocent Americans being raped and murdered by illegals.
In some cases, the locals (and I see that even states) pass laws that inhibit reporting to the feds, and that encourage providing entitlements to people who are in the country illegally. IOW, the localities are doing more than pretending the federal laws don’t exit; they are passing local laws that conflict with any obligation to report.
thank you
