PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (AP) A northern New York prison worker admitted Tuesday to smuggling hacksaw blades in frozen hamburger meat to two killers who later broke out and spent more than two weeks on the run.
Joyce Mitchell, a tailor shop instructor at Clinton Correctional Facility, wept as she pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree promoting prison contraband, a felony, and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal facilitation.
Mitchell, 51, faces a sentence of 2⅓ years to 7 years in prison under terms of a plea deal with prosecutors. A sentencing date was not announced. Her lawyer said his client wont be able to post the bail set by the judge at $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond.
Mitchell was jailed shortly after the elaborately staged June 6 escape of Richard Matt and David Sweat. Matt was shot and killed by searchers June 26, about 30 miles west of the prison; Sweat was captured near the Canadian border two days later and sent to another prison.

And Obama wants to put 50 Gitmo cruds in some of these high security prisons.
She’ll be needing some marriage counseling, too.
No comment from her for the press? I’m surprised.
LOL! I think she’s beyond help in that category.
I don’t think her husband will be tying any yellow ribbons around the old oak tree any time soon....................
Rumor has it she is requesting a men’s prison.
Ha, the wardens wife. These women that pull this stuff have more than a few screws loose.
She’s lost her job. She’s lost her marriage. Lost her pensijn.
All for a bit of romp in a jail cell.

“Tie A Yellow Ribbon (’Round The Ole Oak Tree)”
(Irwin Levine and L. Russell Brown)
I’m comin’ home, I’ve done my time
Now I’ve got to know what is and isn’t mine
If you received my letter telling you I’d soon be free
Then you’ll know just what to do
If you still want me
If you still want me
Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree
It’s been three long years
Do ya still want me (still want me)
If I don’t see a ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree
I’ll stay on the bus
Forget about us
Put the blame on me
If I don’t see a yellow ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree
Bus driver, please look for me
‘cause I couldn’t bear to see what I might see
I’m really still in prison
And my love, she holds the key
A simple yellow ribbon’s what I need to set me free
I wrote and told her please
Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree
It’s been three long years
Do ya still want me (still want me)
If I don’t see a ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree
I’ll stay on the bus
Forget about us
Put the blame on me
If I don’t see a yellow ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree
[Instrumental Interlude]
Now the whole damned bus is cheerin’
And I can’t believe I see
A hundred yellow ribbons ‘round the ole oak tree
I’m comin’ home, mmm, mmm
(Tie a ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree)
(Tie a ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree)
(Tie a ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree)
(Tie a ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree)
(Tie a ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree)
(Tie a ribbon ‘round the ole oak tree)
7 years minimum.....for pure stupidity....
and today?....well, we just give billions to the same Iranian crude that captured our people...
Why no felony murder charge? After all, her felonious escape assistance led to the death of one of the criminals.
7 years for helping criminals escape into the US?
7 years for an act of love?
This surely bucks current trending of federal court rulings. I see a federal case against the state for civil rights violation of her Freedom to Conjugate and violation of the convicts’ Freedom to Trespass.
Hope your reckless pursuit of the Big O was worth it, honey.
My thought as well. Not familiar with NY law on that maybe they don’t have one on the books.
I can’t believe that schlocky song from my childhood morphed into a national tradition.
It was really a ‘national tradition’ before the song:
