Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) recently laid off more American workers, sending a strong and clear message that the company will continue its policy of hiring many foreign workers.. However, laying off American workers in large numbers to replace them with foreign labor has become a political debate, notes a report from Breitbart.
Business Insider notes that even though the chipmaker is adamant about laying off American workers, it is advocating for an increase in H1B visa workers. Back in March, Sen. Jeff Sessions, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committees subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, rebuked Intel for swapping American workers with the cheaper foreign H1B visa holders.
It was also reported that Intel employees have been laid off based on a policy related to the level of performance-based stock grants they received instead of its standard annual review-based lay-off process. CEO Brian Krzanich reportedly acknowledged that this policy will create anger and dissatisfaction among some devoted employees, but this is how a meritocracy works. He went on to say that the company will continue this policy in future as well. What many employees do not know is if an employee is laid off at Intel, he will never be eligible for rehire by the company.
Intel. along with other tech biggies such as Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB). are advocating for comprehensive immigration reform, along with urging lawmakers to support these increases. Intel supports the I-Squared bill, which seeks to significantly increase the number of H1B visa immigrants allowed in the country.
CNN Money reported that Intel is expected to cut its total workforce of 107,600 by 5%, which is 5,380 jobs. In an internal mail to employees last month, Krzanich stated the company would undertake a restructuring plan that may again require trimming of the workforce. Krzanich did not mention any specific number of job cuts, but a report by The Oregonian stated it would be approximately 3% of the total workers worldwide.
As of 12 pm EDT Wednesday, Intel shares were down 0.79% at $28.49. Year to date, the stock is down over 22%, while in the last twelve months it is down over 18%.
Obamatrade (TPP) gives them the H1B visas and more.
This TTP Obamatrade deal is a trojan horse. Its disguised as free trade What It really allows is for Obama to flood the USA with an unlimited number of 3rd world immigrants...

Trade in Services means they can import any number of 3d world workers from any occupation to take away any job from an American , IT ,trades, medical etc. . This is a whole new attack against Americans perpetrated by the anti-American communist Obama.

Only Trump can save America now.
The H1B visa program is being abused to the detriment of America’s workers. The law or rule should be scrapped.....................
Following the lead of Disney perhaps?
Nice to know Americans are valued by the Corporates/s
Has Trump spoken against TTP and/or H-1B?
The ONLY purpose of H1B visa is cheap labor for rich “American” business owners.
Same principle-or is it lack of principle- applies for all the smaller businesses, big farmers, and wealthy hiring illegals .
Most of the wealthy don’t care one bit about America’s future. The evidence is everywhere.
Ted Cruz wants to increase H-1B visas from 65,000 to 325,000 annually
Trump is the only one willing to say the truth - that politically correct mealy-mouthed politicians have got us into the fix where we now find ourselves.
I support Trump!
And no doubt those laid off employees will be blackballed from using the skills they are probably still paying student loans for at other companies, thus creating a labor “shortage” where none exists...
H-1B kill it.

Are you sure about this?
I don’t think Ted Cruz would have supported it or giving fast track authority to 0bama if it was this kind of Trojan horse. It wouldn’t be Constitutional, would it?

H-1B is evil.
One of the problem I've seen with H1B engineers is that, unlike American cowboy engineers, they keep their mouths shut when management screws up. Their highest priority in life seems to be to avoid being fired so they don't get sent back to their Third World homeland.
H-1B should be scrapped because it's working exactly as designed:
H-1B Is Designed to Allow Employers to Replace Americans with Cheap Foreign Workers
H-1B Is Designed to Allow Employers to Pay Foreign Workers Extremely Low Wages
Agenda 21 and the route to perpetual democrat/communist political power. Independent minded Americans who are inclined to vote for a conservative and favor limited government are found in the affluent suburbs. To destroy them as a political class, the suburbs must be destroyed and the population hered into the cities, where they can be made into dependent politically reliable sheep.
They way to destroy the suburbs is to eliminate the two things essential to their existence: good paying jobs and cheap energy. Every policy of this regime serves one of those two purposes. The Chamber of Commerce is willingly playing along as the bosses get to keep their perks and privileges. They are more comfortable in socializing with their political and financial counterparts in the USA and around the globe than they are with any of us.
I find it odd that a technology innovator like Intel, who practically created the field of micro-computer chips, suddenly feels that third-world workers are going to bring more innovation than their current workforce has been proven to deliver for decades?

I've seen good technical staff override bad management - and I'm sure the compliance of H-1B workers is a significant advantage in the eyes of bad management.
The "skills" of accepting low salaries and silently complying with poor management decisions.
