He seems verrrry serious about the Eucharist/communion (depending upon what word you would like to use).
Cruz in 2016. Cruz will deal with the issues that need to be dealt with (border security), is just as conservative Christian as Huckabee is, will do a better job on military issues than Rand Paul, and can say what Trump says but uses words like they aren't a baseball bat.
IOW, one does not have to go PC to get a fantastic speaker like Cruz is (one who will deal with border security and so on) to get someone who can speak so much better than Trump can and yet will do what Trump wants done on border security and so on ---- without using words like a baseball bat.
Well I was raised RC and I promise you that referring to the Body of Christ as a ‘little cracker’ is about as offensive an insult as it gets.
Full title, as space would not permit: “When I drink my little wine ... and have my little cracker I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness.”
Check this out.
Not sure that referring to the host as “my little cracker” is going to curry favor among conservative Catholics, myself included. There’s notable reverence in the act of Holy Communion, and to cast it down as “wine and crackers” is insulting.
Trump isn’t Catholic. Catholics do not refer to the Host as a “cracker”.
I would never vote for anyone because they were Catholic.
“Trump just locked up the Catholic vote.”
What’s THAT supposed to mean?
Trump also went on “The View” in 2006...talked about his daughter’s nice figure and said he would probably be dating her if he wasn’t her father.
What a statesman. What character.
Shame on you.
Well I watched it and Trump seems sincere. He has been attending church his whole life not just since last week. He takes his whole family and yet some of the total whacko birds on FR want to denigrate him as not being a Christian.
so how many groups can he offend this week? could be an interesting pool...
Check this out.
Surely you jest. 3 times married?
I still like Trump but his knowledge of the subject appeared rather weak.
It’s odd Frank Luntz would have asked that question. I am not sure if he knew something and wanted to derail Trump.
Trump's not Catholic unless he converted (which I doubt by his comments). I think he claims to be Presbyterian.
I’m not going to defend Trump’s answer, because it’s my understanding you need to ask God for forgiveness.
What I am going to do is point out that this is not the sort of question you ask a presidential candidate.
Isn’t it interesting how hard the Left fights to keep religion out of our government, schools, society, but how compelled they are to introduce the topic if they think it can provide them a “GOTSHA” moment?
A lot of Christians will be considering whether to vote for Trump or not, so why not convince them he’s disqualified because he doesn’t believe exactly what they do on a point of religion?
These slimes play every side of every issue to their advantage, and some folks buy in hook line and sinker.
How dare he call it wine & crackers! That’s almost as insulting as thinking that confessing to a priest is gonna get someone into Heaven!!!
I am okay, with him not being so spiritual. Too often godly people can be to soft and taken advantage of.
It doesn’t have meaning for him like it has for you. He’s being honest.
Thank God for a man who puts his cards on the table. He wants to make a deal to save America, so he’s holding nothing back. Look at my books.
It’s still early. Pace yourself. He’ll be saying something else outrageous anytime now LOL
If you want to vote for a practicing conservative Christian, Trump is not your boy.
