"When I drink my little wine have my little cracker I guess that's a form of asking for forgiveness"

Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.

"I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so, he said. ... I don't bring God into that picture."

Trump said that while he hasn't asked God for forgiveness, he does participate in Holy Communion.

"When I drink my little wine - which is about the only wine I drink - and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed," he said. "I think in terms of 'lets go on and let's make it right.'"

Trump says he never asked for forgiveness before taking communion? He’d be a wise man to read what the Bible tells us about doing that and seek His forgiveness soon!

“Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.” (1 Cor 11:27-29, KJV)

If Trump has not asked for God’s forgiveness, he is drinking and eating unworthily. If he has not accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour, he is guilty of the body and the blood, for partaking in communion because communion IS in remembrance of Jesus finished work on the cross. We need toray for him, that he comes to the Lord before it is too late.

Oh boy. You know. I have things to do so please listen and be reasonable and logical

Our U.S. Constitution is 240 or so yes old. It was drafted by brilliant working professional minds with motivation and opportunity to study the effects of good government and they drew on that, from classical western civilization

The powers will always try to destroy it. People will ute the Old Testament and also Revelations to tell you how they’re so smart and they know we’re the last generation. They don’t know that people have always said that

The Catholic Church was, whether people believe it or not, founded by Jesus. The world almanac is the secular source for that

It was founded some 2000 years ago and has and will again, as it does now, many onslaughts and violences perpetrated on it, Her, since the day they Crucified Jesus

It will withstand anything this pope or any other deems necessary. When the pope writes a piece like this latest one and the one before, which put down capitalism, citing ‘trickle down economics’ a Reagan term btw, no catholic is required to adhere to it. It is a statement from the Pope. This pope will not go against dogma. He cannot change dogma, which is, for instance, that homosexual behavior is disordered, however it is generated, about which no one knows

If the current pope is not clear, pray for him. Priests and the pope are not saints. Sainthood is reserved for the dead as they have no more chance for sin

The pope and the clergy, to the contrary, have much temptation

But the pope can never change dogma. If he could the enemy would have destroyed the Church long ago
The Church is not a democracy, succumbing to the whims the f even its leaders

No all this because he was speaking in falsehood for the Church

No one comes to help me in these arguments. Just by private mail

Leave the Catholic Church out of your jokes and sarcasms

You all remind me of gangs of boys from the movies turning into a mob around a girl. No humility or gentlemanliness when she asks you all to stop

i understrand Donald Trump is a Presbyterian.

I didn't say a "good" Presbyterian or a "bad" Presbyterian. I think his religion is so highly, highly personal and private he doesn't even impose it on himself.

It does seem that way, what with how the alphabet network, Dem Party water-carriers are running with it.

I didn't hear any of the rest of the Q&A at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa.... but isn't it conceivable that the question could be asked innocently enough?

Just think what a hostile interviewer could have done with the answer if it was "yes".

For those possibly unable to process what I just speculated about -- the next question would be "what"?

That would open the door for the interviewer to then, no matter what else happened, to have an angle at Trump, and Christianity, all at the same time, and be able to leverage it six ways from Sunday.

The next interviewer, and the next, and the one after that -- would all have that lane of travel also, in addition to whatever other line of questioning they'd come up with.

And so Trump gave the interviewer PC-approved Christianity lite. 'I just go on from there and try' ...to be a better person, or whatever the exact wording was.

I'm not saying that I think what Trump said was theologically sound, but the answer would make it hard for the hatchet wielding political commentators to then have ready-made opening to exploit... as it turns out, beyond stuff like the shrill headline CNN ran;

I have a copy of the Bible. You might want to get one. Or at least find it on the internet. They’re easy to come across.

So that’s how I know. The good book clearly says this will be the case.....in the Gospels, in the Epistles, and in Revelation. You might want to read it sometime.

So when Presbyterian and Methodist and Lutheran and Episcopal pulpits deny the Bible and preach a seeker sensitive bunch of pabulum, tickling the ears of the congregants, then it’s pretty clear.

Do you know how many church buildings Jesus spoke from? Zero. How many pulpits did he stand behind? Zip Zero Nada. I think you’re more into churchianity and Christianity.

Nothing replaces a true heart change and repentance before Jesus Christ.

Prayers up for Donald Trump. May his heart be awakened to his need for forgiveness.

Yeah, well someone here reported abuse on that. All I was doing was doing a visualization of what Trump was talking about. Anyway, I see it’s still up. As for me, I’m a Messianic Jew so ....

Actually, I would be the opposite of that. YOU would be the church lady.

Maybe you should worship the Lord, not the institution. Revelation and the 7 churches.....you might learn something.

I know its really tough for you to stay on topic so let me reel you back in to home base.

The topic here is not your personal portal to God. Or that you obtained a Bible on internet.

The topic is whether anybody believes Trump’s profession of Christianity.

I believe him. Despite the hysterics on this thread fronm you and others There is no known reason not to.

Maybe when God contacts you with the weekly tally of non believers in the pew you can find out for sure and let us all know. :-)

“The first comment is off topic, and goes straight to catholic bashing.”

There was no Catholic bashing going on. Being overly sensitive and demanding no words be used other than the words you demand to be used is you bashing the original speak which was Trump. Liberals like to demand only certain words be used and censor all other words. As Rush says, liberals love war of words. We on true Americans don’t bow to those demands.
