The unbelievable reasons why the Pentagon wants soldiers disarmed on bases
American Thinker ^ | July 17, 2015 | By Newsmachete

Last year, radical Muslim Nidal Hasan murdered 13 unarmed American soldiers and wounded 30 others.

Thank you, George H.W. Bush!

Yesterday, radical Muslim Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez murdered four unarmed American soldiers.

Thank you, George H.W. Bush!

Yes, it former President Bush whom we must thank for this, for it was he who put into place a regulation stating that American soldiers off the frontlines, for the most part, must be unarmed. (Clinton perpetuated it, but Bush started it.) That makes them sitting ducks for a single radical Muslim with a gun, who can casually go and shoot one soldier at a time, knowing they can't fire back.

The United States has been played for SUCKERS since 1989. I am convinced that the Bushes and EVERY President we have been inflicted with SINCE 1989 are "POD" People.

Historically, soldiers have frequently been unarmed on bases - to prevent attacks on officers. The officers generally had weapons, though, so you should look at when officers were disarmed.

I believe they should be able to carry personal firearms but I have seen too many drunken sailors and Marines who have no business with a gun in their hands.

An Israeli soldier carrying, at all times.

Because they fear large-scale fragging of politically correct queer officers?

The fools need to identify the problem before they solve the problem. The problem is that Nadal Hasan was still in the military. The solution would've been to get those with loyalty to non-US interests out of the military.

What's the response? The idiots in charge are disarming US soldiers in our homeland and arming Muslims in places where they end up using those arms against anything civilized.

I think the point is that even janitors should be armed on bases! IMO, Muslims want us dead!

Trump, Cruz or Walker should publicly ask Jeb if he support his father’s decision on this. Regardless of how he answers, it will send the correct message to the voters.

This was policy (if not law) long prior to Bush, Reagan, and even Carter. It was policy when I went in the Air Force in 1987, and I’ve heard it from other folks it was policy clear back into the 1960s.

The law states that they can be armed if a threat to DOD personnel and/or property is perceived. This is to protect the average Joe on the street more than anything. The problem is, that we HAVE BEEN UNDER THREAT FOR SOME TIME NOW, and our glorious terrorist-loving CNC refuses to acknowledge it! Under the law, our servicemen/women should now be carrying on base or govt property AT ALL TIMES because there is a threat!

As a vet (Navy) I will state positively that historically there was NO need whatever for military people to go around armed within the limits of the United States.
The danger THEN was the possibility of two guys who didn’t like each other anyway having the deadly combination of too much drink and a loaded gun.
What Bush or any other president did BACK THEN was a sensible action. However, it must be stated that this is NOW, in 2015 and the world has changed in a terrible way.
In 1954 I stood sentry duty armed with a ‘03 Springfield.
The piece was empty and the cartridge belt I wore had nothing in it but a couple of Lucky Strikes and a lighter.
That rifle was useful only if held by the barrel and swung like a bat. That was then, we live TODAY.

Israeli kindergarten teachers are armed. They know that Islamists have declared war on everyone in their country, including kindergarteners. We are still in denial. Ask the families of the four dead Marines in Chattanooga how our Gun Free Zones are working out.

Has anyone but me noticed that Obama never talks about gun control when a Muslim or illegal is involved? We are never informed as to what type of weapon is involved or how they obtained it. Was the weapon used yesterday an AK-47? Inquiring minds want to know.

One of the reason for the crackdown on personal guns on bases is that we have too many gangbangers in the ranks. My brother was in the Army back in the 90's and they had a unit transfer to the States from Germany. Within weeks they had some guys go ripping through the batallion area shooting Tec-9's out the windows of their car.

We do need to look at policies to arms an auxiliary security force on bases to fight these attacks. It would have to include being armed at all times, having a reasonable number of team members in all parts of the base, secure storage of weapons, and some kind of quick donning identification to preclude a blue on blue.

For recruiting centers, the first thing we need to do is allow recruiters to carry. The second thing we need to do is really look at these offices and see the vulnerabilities. Glass store fronts, floor to ceiling, aren't going to work. For the Army and Marines an immediate fix is easily accomplished with some office redecorating that is also bullet proof and provides cover. The Navy and Air Force, not quite as easy.
