I have a column posted at National Review, Trumps Lesson: Voters Are Furious about Illegal Immigration
As Ive told readers before, I write elsewhere from time to time in order to gain exposure to new audiences. For this post, I particularly wanted it at National Review because it would speak to an audience for whom the Republican primaries and illegal immigration matter.
Here is an excerpt:
"But something happened on the way to the denunciations and purges [of Trump]. Kate Steinle was murdered in San Francisco, a sanctuary city. Steinle was killed in broad daylight on a popular pedestrian pier in a business and tourist district, by an illegal immigrant with a long criminal record who had been deported five times and recently was released from custody .
In the wake of the murder of Kate Steinle, many Republican candidates have denounced the sanctuary-cities agenda. There is talk of withholding funding from cities that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. But who among the Republican candidates has stood side by side with the families who have lost loved ones to illegal-immigrant criminals?
Trump did

He can not be threatened because for any business he loses there will now be those that like him who will patronize him.

The revolution has started ... and it IS televised .... who’da’thunk ?
Spot on. The answer is none until Trump came along. The tens of thousands of Americans murdered by criminal aliens along with the millions of others who have been victims of other crimes are not mentioned by the political class. They deem it too inflammatory and possible inciting anti-immigrant feelings. Our public officials have let us down. They would rather protect and defend the lawbreakers than be concerned about the safety and security of their fellow citizens.
Why don't the Reps introduce a stand alone border security bill, including beefing up our ability to track and deport visa overstays who comprise 40% of the illegal population? The idea that the passage of such a bill must be linked to anything else is pure sophistry.
Something that hasn’t even been mentioned. Sales of his books will probably go through the roof. A substantial percentage of the nation will be learning to think like Trump!
Should Trump’s campaign endure long enough to damage any Republicans’ presidential bids, its only because the GOP has become too feeble and wishy-washy to stand on their own principles.
Not a bad thing.
Learn to dream and act big, to reduce government obsticles and how complex real life is.
I think the previous silent majority is starting to come alive finding a voice between Cruz and Trump.
If the majority start calling BS on all these politicians and f,ush them out, then you gain real change.
There are too many self serving old professional politicians in the party. And a lot of them are just plain crooks and should share a cell with Hillary, et.al.
The Party is old but it’s not grand.
Yes sir!!!!!
Too bad we can’t have a good old fashioned tar and feathering. I nominate No-Boner and McConstipated for starters. I am sick of those two lying thieves.
Oohhh! I like that! “I am no longer accepting things...”. Very good.
I have said from the beginning that any GOPer could have done what Trump has. The GOP has only itself to blame. The only reason Trump was able to step in was no GOP had the spine to do it.
I would also like to see CEO’s doing the perp walk for employing illegals.
(Thanks!!)
How does anyone buy and vote for their bullsh!t?
It’s a mystery.
