There's a reason why Donald Trump is stirring up the Republican race. The Republican Party has become a resistance movement, and Trump is leading the resistance.
What it's resisting is the rise of the New America. That's the coalition of groups that were historically marginalized: immigrants, racial and religious minorities, gays, working women, single mothers, young people and "unchurched" Americans with no religious affiliation.
It's a coalition united by a commitment to diversity and inclusion. And deeply opposed to symbols of exclusion like the Confederate flag, hostility to immigrants and homophobia. The coalition is growing in numbers as the U.S. becomes more racially diverse, women become more independent, gays come out of the closet and more people lose their religion.
The New America came to power with the nation's first African-American President. President Obama's legitimacy is under constant challenge -- most prominently by Donald Trump, who has never given up disputing Obama's legal qualifications to serve.

I stopped reading this article after the first 3 paragraphs. As usual leftists can only fall back on the old bullcrap of *yawn* faux racism, “immigrants”, oh yes “marginalized” gays...not Christians of course, but gays. YAWN. As Dennis Miller would say, “If my yawn got any bigger they’d have to assign it a hurricane name.” Don’t these libs know by now that this old tired bullcrap isn’t going to work any more? Especially against Trump. People are sick to death of it.
What I say is the HuffPos list of marginalized groups is just BS. Excessive government has marginalized everyone.

The New America is predominantly an urban phenomenon. When the fertilizer hits the ventilator and the cities become chaotic killing zones, the New America will not fare well against the feral hordes. There will be a grand culling of the herd.
7 years of daily assaults on law-abiding, hard-working Americans is going to drive far more people to the polls than the numerous far-left factions can gin up from Trump telling the truth.

As for Trump, most of the hysteria is along the lines of he’s a Democrat (as you’ve mentioned), he will never declare his financial worth (already done!), he’s crass, a loudmouth, bombastic, and, etc.
I don’t care about any of that. It is what message he conveys that is important: this country is going in the wrong direction and he will stop that, turn it around and make America great again.
There is no law in the land. Crony politics does that to a nation.

It is the function of an opposition party in a republic to be a resistance movement, especially when the party in power becomes intolerably tyrannical!
It's extremely sad that the GOP in Washington has been asleep over the past 6 1/2 years, so the resistance movement's leader (almost by default) is ironically an outsider who had shown little sign of resistance himself until about a month ago.
And all of it bent on revenge against white male, christian heterosexuals.
