With Democratic Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.) and Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, Clybrun called on Congress to expand Brady background checks and vote on the bill Thompson and Peter King (R-N.Y.) introduced earlier this year.
The Public Safety and Second Amendment Rights Protection Act would require background checks for all gun sales to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and people who are mentally ill.

...so an illegal alien kills someone and that prompts a crackdown on guns?
Typical.
The Public Safety and Second Amendment Rights Protection Act.
Anything but.
Gotta love the Orwellian name.....and the RINO POS King from NY who sponsored the bill.
I see the usual RINOs in the Senate (Toomey) and House (King) can be counted on to push this garbage.
I hope that Toomey gets primaried, because I will never pull the lever for him again.
Nope they never stop. Background checks didn’t stop Sandy Hook, Columbine, south Carolina a couple of weeks ago, this illegal immigrant, the illegal Hannity is talking about now....gang member, day after he got out of jail...I missed the first part, Chicago I think, black teenager shot by a gang member who thought he was a rival gang member because he was wearing a red back pack...I’ve heard about it before but don’t remember the details.
Background checks, magazine limits and assault weapon ban have done absolutely nothing to reduce crime. Chicago has an almost total gun ban, highest murder rate in the country right now or has Baltimore taken that spot?
They never stop, they never learn and they never accept the facts.
Guns don’t kill, people do.
Today we begin to disarm the criminal and the careless and the insane. All of our people who are deeply concerned in this country about law and order should hail this day.
- Lyndon Johnson when he signed the 1968 GCA into law.
Next up? Mandatory registration. BTW, why do they need serial numbers when you get your background check?
If background checks were in place during the founding of this nation, the Founding Fathers would have been executed by the British with that information.
Expand to what? Last pistol I bought I had to fill out paperwork for the fed’s and the state (WA) - they check their criminal database and all ...
Let’s just call them Intergalactic Background Checks and be done with it.
It’s Futuristic registration!
Tyranny with a Sci-Fi flair.
There’s no specific information about the bill there. Something is being hidden from voters.
The Rats used the “interstate commerce clause” as giving them the power to regulate gun sales over state lines. So if I am selling a gun to my neighbor or giving it to my son, how can they claim that is interstate commerce?
NAZI bastards.
SEC. 107. Clarification that submission of mental health records to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System is not prohibited by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

I’m sure that there’s more in that bill that I didn’t see—maybe something much more nefarious.
I only read parts of it very quickly. Here’s the link.
Another site should also be checked frequently for more up-to-date information (thomas.loc.gov) and even more nefarious moves by the gun control politicians. There will be big money and a big push behind them.
