Texas Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) declared I am proud to defend Donald Trump and promoted his legislation to increase the number of H-1B visas if there are people who are educated and talented and creating jobs on Tuesdays Laura Ingraham Show. [...]
The discussion turned to legal immigration, Cruz said, we should improve and streamline legal immigration. He also discussed H-1B visas arguing that in the status quo, every year US colleges and universities educate tens of thousands of foreign students who are getting masters and PhDs in engineering and math and computer science, and were sending them back to their countries. And as a result, theyre going back to their countries, theyre starting businesses there. Theyre creating jobs there, and their companies are competing with us and taking jobs away from us. I dont think that makes any sense. So, Ive introduced legislation to increase the number of H-1B visas, if there are people who are educated and talented and creating jobs, the data shows for every H-1B visa holder that comes in, he or she creates 1.7 jobs for Americans here. I want job creations, I want innovators, I want new opportunities for America. Cruz was asked about Disneys use of H-1B visas to replace US workers who were forced to train their replacements, he stated that he didnt know the facts of the Disney case, so he couldnt comment.

Agreed.
I would add that one of the issues making the problem intractable is that the culture has shifted to one of entitlement in large part due to the welfare state.
Have we still got talented people? Hell yeah we do...the best. We just have far fewer as a percent of new employees than we did say 50 years ago.
Folks the H-1B push is an Establishment/Globalist Position
Just like
1) Open Borders
2) Amnesty
3) Commie Core
4) Climate Change is Real
5) Rigid Trade Agreements (”Free Trade” Is A Deceitful Lie)
6) Ban the Confederate Flag
etc.....
The Establishment position.... ALWAYS WEAKENS the United States
Ok let me see if have this correct: I should vote for Cruz because Americans suck, can’t learn and are stupid. So do I have that right?
My personal experience is contrary to your assertion. Could we both be right? Sure.
I’m going with what I see every day.
I'd agree that H-1B visa workers are taking the jobs of recent college graduates if the news wasn't about displacing the senior workers.

Nailed it.
Dump the uniparty.
He spoke with Laura Ingraham about various immigrant issues, including Disney. He (probably) lied and said he knew nothing about it.
Cruz should have his job taken away.
Cruz should have his job taken away.

Absolutely - you may see a shortage in who is available to your organization, while the Breitbart-cited scholars are addressing the national average.
Im going with what I see every day.
"Going with" in what sense - supporting nationwide policies that don't conform to nationwide realities but do conform to your corner of the world?
Ah yes, conditions. How has that worked out so far in Washington? Those things always disappear after a bill or legislation is passed.
Give me a break. When have you ever posted that you support Cruz?
Your choice. He’s the most solid conservative in the race. He has my support.
You really don’t understand Cruz’ response?
You are a complete joke!
He knows Trump is blowing smoke, and is capitalizing on the fact that Trump has publicly affirmed his own position.
So, then their argument that he is a hypocrite is BS.
This is a perfect opportunity for Cruz to make the point that he is not against legal immigration but he is against ILLEGAL immigration.
I don’t know the motivations or any biases in that “study”; a study can be used to say anything.
I’m not discounting it, just saying it’s no match for what I have seen in stem education for the last fifty years.
We’ve still got the best no doubt. But we also have fewer every year.
Like button would be used on your post ;)

My uncle says there are 3 kinds of parents he encounters.
1. the Absentee parent who couldn’t care less what their son or daughter does in college.
2. The angry parent who rages that their special snowflake failing his business ethics class may hinder snowflake’s ability to get the magic degree and become an instant kajillionaire regardless of whether they can do a job or not. (the worst kind)
3. The involved parent who doesn’t care if their son or daughter is upset about them contacting the professor because their education is more important than the feelings of junior. (the best kind)
My uncle is no fan of the H-1B program but says that few companies can compete without it. He’s friends with Quicken loans founder Dan Gilbert and points to the fact that Gilbert had 20,000 show up in Detroit for a job fair offering 12,000 jobs. He immediately disqualified half of them for being uneducated degree holders. He lost half of those who remained when they found that they would be working in downtown Detroit. The 7000 person deficit were made up by big bonuses to transfers from other parts of the country and H-1B workers.
Fixed.
